"I think I've received enough samples to identify the source of these fossils.
You are looking at a partial Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton.
This species is not indigenous to the Arctic, so I'm not quite sure why so many pieces are now turning up here. I enjoy indulging my curiosity; if you come across any more bones belonging to this species, bring them to me. In exchange, I'll give you some Unknown Bones. You might find them useful."
This dusty pile of bones seems to have a bit of magic caked onto them.
While this magic lasts, you can create your very own T-Rex SCC!

It seems as though there's an expedition going on in the Arctic for something big...
"We get a lot of fossils turning up in this area, but I've never seen anything like these before until now. If you manage to find one of each before time's up, you should probably take them to the curator at the museum. She should be able to give us more information after she receives several samples."
"It says here that the expedition will be lasting through May 5th at 11:59 PM, so you best find what you're looking for before then! Before you head on out there, you might want to stop by the Explore Shop to pick up some wearable paleontologist gear. You don't know what you're going to find out there!"
"Be careful when disturbing the ground; there's no telling what you might find!
In the meantime, I'll try and get together some things that might be of use to you soon."

Site Update
In case you are wondering why the site seems to die every week for eight or ten hours, we're in a very... interesting, to say the least, predicament. Our server is actually devastatingly out of space, so it has moments weekly where it crashes and won't come back online.
I have a new server ordered with 2 TB of space (and actually double the RAM, which I'm interested to see how it handles the site's load) but we're trying to figure out how to migrate the data. You see, when you have a site this large, data migration can take 2-3 days due to the sheer amount of it. Yet, even if you let it migrate data in the background of the old server site running, new data is constantly being added (by the actions all of you take onsite, making pets, exploring, new accounts being registered, forum posts etc.), which means that new data doesn't get copied over to the new server as it's created on the old server.
So we have a fun situation where we're trying to figure out how to minimize the data loss in moving. It's obvious that we can't shut the site down for three or four days to migrate the data; that would just suck for all of us.
I have an idea but we'll just have to see how it pans out. It seems like what takes up the most space are custom images. The goal is to get moved to the new server by next week though.
Well, anyway, that's your little update. This situation is annoying for Yasu and I, believe me...

Our Easter festivities may be coming to a close soon, but Spring is still in the air!

The Easter Field will not be accepting any more egg deposits after 11:59 PM on April 30th, but you will still be able to collect eggs after that until they're all gone!
The Easter Painter will not be accepting more recipe projects after 11:59 PM on April 30th, but we will give you until May 6th at 11:59 to pick them up.
I will be hiding more eggs tomorrow. We had a lull yesterday and today, but we'll be tossing quite a few in on the 30th!
Be sure to pick up this cute Fauna from the Advent Calendar tomorrow, too. :3
