It's that time of year again!
The GP Shop is decking its halls with holiday pets!
And creatures of all kinds are trying to bundle up in the BP Shop this month!

Looking for the perfect gift for a pet lover or gambler at heart? You might want to try the Essence of December 2012. Like all our monthly potions, this beautiful turquoise-inspired bottle will change your active pet into a random monthly coloration!
Those with December birthdays will be pleased to know that your Lunaris--the Rat--is right on schedule, even with holiday-induced flying delays.
The premium monthly item is 3 Boxes. Like all good presents, I'm not going to tell you what this does quite yet, because that would take away the element of surprise! (read: Yasu needs to activate this. I'll explain what it does as soon as he can work on it.)

Coding Corner
As you're probably aware of by now, Yasu is in the middle of moving. Once he's in a position to do some work, here's what we've got planned!
In addition to activating holiday features and items alongside our usual bug work and old item coding, we will be adding a lot of items to the site that I think everyone will enjoy. Not only are we going to expand our random potion inventory and replace more vouchers with tangible items, but we're also going to add several items taken directly from the Suggestions forum and a few surprises of our own.

Character workshop~!
Site Update
I really have no idea why I picked this image, it's just for aesthetics
When Aywas opened up more than three years ago, I hadn't actually expected anyone to want to play it (considering the previous site I'd opened up hadn't had more than five or six people on at a time), so much of the site was pretty rushed! I knew pet sites needed characters in them, so I'd tossed in some roleplay characters with a very close friend of mine that I knew well so I could have fun playing them :)
I gave staff the green light to start adding new characters of their design to the site about a year back, but how about we open this up to everyone who'd like to contribute?
Under the suggestions forum is a new subgroup, the Character Workshop!! All you have to do to contribute a character to the site is snag a profile off the current list and fill it out, then add some reference pictures. A new character artist will be selected in about a month and all the new characters will make their debut!
Try to make your character as related to Aywas as you can, that's what makes the world more grounded! And don't forget, your contributed character can be human, anthro, or pet... it's all up to you!

In case some of you haven't noticed yet, Morranr (#43935) has made a very useful tool for the rest of you here: it's a script that checks for duplicate pets in your lair. If you have use for it, check it out, and don't forget to tell Morranr thank you if you like it! :)
