Hibernation & Winterheart Gala
Site Update
Good evening! We have some news today for the site as a whole and for the Winterheart Gala, so please make sure to read the full post!
It has been no secret that Aywas wants to do a recode - the site needs the facelift and even more so we need to fix a lot of dead end systems and refresh a lot of things on the back end. Normally when sites do this, they fully close down for a few months and then reopen. We have decided we will take a different approach - hibernation.
Over the span of the next few months, we will be making several changes to the way the site works. Not everything will happen at once, but this is our plan should the recode take longer than expected:
- No more USD contracts; breeding artists who are pre-paid can finish their currently pre-pay and then will either have to swap payment options or resign. GCC/MDT/SCC that are currently USD will be able to finish their current ticket then will be removed, and they will be contacted individually within the next few weeks. This also includes USD pay for shop submissions.
- Slashbot will continue as normal as this time.
- BP/GP shop pets will now be swapped to being every other month and will not be available for direct sale. They will only be available through the monthly potion, which will be available in both the GP & BP shops.
- Jeweleds & RCC will be swapped to every other month for the time being. So the current Jeweleds and Current RCC will be for February and for March!
- Custom makers will be removed from GP/BP/PP shops and manually restocked depending on the current need based on what is in user inventories/for sale. (This one can be confusing - they are not being permanently removed, they are just going to rotate in and out of the shop as needed to try to spark trade. At the time of the last search, staff found many available for less than shop price and we want to encourage everyone to buy those. This will begin next weekend.
- Breeding coins will remain limited stock as the queues allow.
- Mayday: Artists who choose USD as their primary payment for a set must also choose a secondary option; if they sell 1 design from their set on day 1 or 2, they will receive their primary USD payment. If not, they get their secondary option.
- Suggestions forum will be locked until we are done with the revamp as all suggestions are for the current site and the way this site is built. Once the site is recoded, we will reopen them and look forward to new ideas and feedback, but in the meantime we would like to focus on the recode as the start to a new future for Aywas.
- All pre-planned events will continue as normal, as will our traditional holiday events.
The reason for this is so that we can reallocate all of our resources to focus entirely on the recode. We will be doing a lot of back end work, so there isn't going to be a lot of front end updates. We will attempt to keep everyone posted on how it is going, but we are not going to give an exact time frame - especially with the way the world is lately. We know that this is a lot to take in and may result in some significant changes, but we want to keep the site running while we work on the back end instead of going down fully for an extended amount of time. The Seasonal Shop for the Winterheart Gala is now open!
There are a variety of pets to choose from, as well as items, clothing, and some lovely custom makers! The Tokens of Affection can be used to make a Haatochu, for anyone who may be new to these little trinkets.
We will also have three new lines coming to the Love Potion #9. There will be a news post once they are ready for release, but if you like the Soluss, Crystelid, or Paleo, it may be worth it to nab one, two, or three! If you'd like to see the other lines that you can create with this item, you can check out the Knowledge Base article!
If you don't have enough points to purchase everything that you would like, don't fret! The Seasonal Shop will be open until 11:59 PM AST on March 1st. This will give you one extra day after the Love Letters will stop dropping so that you can use any last minute points you may receive.
Have fun continuing to spread the love, and try not to receive any paper cuts by flinging letters around!

Starting off, we have our GP Shop and BP Shop pets!

Make sure to include your PayPal address if you are opting for the USD option and submitted through the Event thread.
We will also be collecting pet PSDs directly from the thread, so please make sure you keep the links active for two weeks (at least until mid-February) so we have time to snag 'em!

It's that time of the year when both love and snow are in the air! That's right - it's time for the Winterheart Gala!
For those new to this event, you will be able to gain points by sending Love Letters to other users! You can find Love Letters while in Adventure, or you can purchase them from the The Corner Store. Once you have a Love Letter in your inventory, you can send it to someone through your inventory, the Love Letters page, or via the button in a user's post on the forums! The Love Letters page is also where you can enable and disable receiving Love Letters, so be sure to check that it's enabled before sending a few off! Please note that Love Letters cannot be sent to players who have not logged in within the past 24 hours.
You will receive one (1) point when sending a Love Letter to someone, and you will gain one (1) point when receiving a Love Letter - this means that swapping Love Letters with another user will net you both two (2) points! You will only gain a point the first time you send or receive a Love Letter to or from a particular user however. Points will be used as currency for the Seasonal Shop that will open later on in the month.
If you purchase a Handmade Love Letter from the BP Shop, you can send a more personalized letter through the Card Designer, though you will not receive points through these letters.
Remember, as with all events where we allow you to input your own message, you must follow the Terms of Service - this includes not using any language or images that would require an M (Mature) tag. If you receive a Love Letter that you feel breaks the rules, please report it to a member of staff.

Some Breeding Sales...

We've had such a large number of people taking interest in becoming breeding artists that we're able to release a coin for sale again!
The Rusted Breeding Coin is available for sale again in limited amounts (for now, 30 are in stock)! You can find it over at Trash for Treasure for 250,000 Trash Points.
Sketch Breeding Coins also have a very short queue (it's...0!), so if you want to submit one of those you should get a pretty fast turnaround! You can purchase a Sketch Breeding Coin in the USD shop!.
Be on the lookout later this weekend for some other breeding coins for sale in the USD shop ;)

Pet Palace Stock & Monthly Customs

"As some of you may have noticed, my Exotic Pet Palace has received a new stock of pets! They're eager and awaiting new loving owners!"
In case you weren't aware, the Exotic Pet Palace is on a stock rotation schedule with the stock changing every 3 months. After the 3 months, the pets currently in stock will be permanently retired and a new stock will replace them. So get them while you can!
If you want to have the chance of getting a design of yours into the pet shop, go ahead and submit them to the Pet Coloration Submissions forum. Most of the submitted designs will be put into Adventure, but some random designs will be kept to go into the pet shop!
If your design is now in the pet shop please contact Lacia (#25044) for your free copy. That's right, if your design is accepted and put in the shop you get a free copy. That could save you a good amount of BP!

The Artist Festival is a way to celebrate and get involved with the artists on Aywas!
Select artists were invited to stream the creation of bases or colorations to share with the userbase.
These bases will all be available and free to use at the conclusion of the Festival, and some free colorations may be created for those attending streams!
