Site Update

Depositing eggs has now been disabled, but you can still collect an egg once every 10 minutes from the field until there are none left!
New Easter Painter projects should also be disabled, but we'll leave the feature up for another 24 hours so you can collect your spring monsters. ;)
You should also see the dyes dissipating from Adventure soon!

Final Sphinx Followup
Rules

After reading some suggestions by users, a few final changes are being made to the sphinx update:
-Boobs on pets can have a top to cover them. Together, these are considered one "allowed in isolation" trait, so no other human traits.
-Sphinxy PSDs and designs bought from the Artist USD event can be submitted through May 14th. However, you'll need to PM Skitty (#543) with a link to the thread you bought it from as proof.
-The deadline is being extended to more than 24 hours--you now have through Sunday night (11:59 PM) to sell sphinxes.
-Additionally, while you can no longer buy or sell them after the above deadline, you can submit designs you already have until April 21st at 11:59 PM. This should give you some time to save up if you don't currently have enough on hand to make everything you want!
Hopefully this will solve most of the complaints!

Sphinx Followup 2: Electric Boogaloo
Rules
Here's a nice shiny explanation with some images and stuff. If you have some borderline case designs and are confused about whether they'd be restricted under the new rules or not, you can post them there and I'll try to answer them.
Also, any sphinxes that are waiting in the (admittedly very backlogged) Crystal Thread can be submitted to the Custom Queue for a faster answer. Thanks to the newly-added rejection notices, you should be able to figure out what needs to be changed if your pet is not accepted.
If you do miss the deadline for submitting them, keep in mind that you'll probably only have to change the nose/ears/maybe a little more to get a sphinx design to fit under the new rules.
Finally, keep in mind that the 24 hour limit to submit sphinx designs still only allows designs that would be okay previously. A pet with a human face + full clothing edits still wasn't okay previously. Nor was a pet with a human face + human hands, human arms and legs, human breasts, etc. This deadline allows you to submit your human-eared and human-nosed pets without having to edit them into cat ears/noses, and that's about it. If you submit a pet that would have been too humanoid even for the old rules, it will still be rejected, as it would have anyway.

Sphinx Update
Rules

Since there's some confusion: The sphinx rule tightening actually isn't a very big change.
Pets with dresses and hair are still fine.
Sphinxes with a human face shape but animal ears and a more cat- or animal-like nose are still fine.
You just can't have a 100% human head pasted on an animal body anymore. Most sphinx designs weren't that extreme anyway, but a few of them were pushing it too far and the rules had to be tightened up. This rule won't actually effect that many pets, and those that it will effect will likely be easily edited to fit within the limit (turn human noses into cat noses, etc).
Also, bare human breasts are still not allowed, as anything that would require an [M] in a topic cannot be on a pet. That part of the news post was not well worded, and unfortunately resulted in some confusion. I'd like to set that straight here.
I'm compiling a more thorough followup post that will explain things in more detail and hopefully alleviate most of your fears. To reiterate: This is not a very big change and won't effect that many pets and sphinx-like pets will still be possible--they just won't be as extreme.

Custom Rules Update
Rules

Hello everyone!
I'm here to tell you about a change in custom rules. And now before you raise your pitchforks, please read and hear us out.
Aywas is a pet site primarily dealing with non-human species and while we do have human avatars, we have never wanted to merge the two aspects into one. There was an exception to our "no human features" rule which was a small section that allowed "sphynx" type edits. A.k.a the Egyptian statues with the human-like face on the cat body.

In hindsight we probably should not have allowed that but as what happens on growing sites, it was allowed and originally only a few were made. But as the site grew the "sphynx" type edits grew in popularity and whenever something like that happens, people do tend to push every boundary they can and try to see what they can wiggle around with. It has become an issue that we need to address.
And you probably know what I'm leading up to, with that long introduction.
We are changing what we allow on customs on Aywas in regards to humanoid features.
For each feature we consider "human", I'll explain whether we allow it, disallow it, or will allow it in isolation.
Disallowed completely:
Human Noses
Human Ears
Allowed completely:
Eye edits
Eyebrows
Hair edits
Accessories (hats, scarves, etc.)
Allowed in isolation:
Breast edits
Abdominal muscle (abs) edits
Butt Cheek edits
Human Mouth (with lips, etc)
Human shaped head
Human-like arms and legs
Human hands
Human feet
Elf ears
Extreme clothing edits (such as pants and a shirt or a dress).
Allowed in isolation means your design or custom can only have one of those features in that list, and no more than one.

So what about those sphinx designs you have in your pocket and haven't created yet?
We want to give you a chance to submit them before the rules take full effect.
Here's how it'll work:
You have 24 hours from the time stamp on this news post to finish submitting your sphinx customs. Assuming they do not break any of the custom rules or crystal/orb/token/etc. rules that existed before this news post, they will be accepted.
All customs that are submitted after the 24 hours and break any of the above new humanoid rules will be rejected from the queue. The rules will be in full effect at that point.
Thank you for your understanding!
EDIT: We overlooked the recent USD artist event commissions. Sorry about that! We're going to still honor those commissions so long as you have them submitted by May 14th (2 weeks after the date all transactions must be fulfilled by). You'll need to PM Skitty with proof of the transaction and negotiation, which, by the rules, was logged in the thread in the forum. So just PM her the link to the thread along with the image of the design you're submitting and make sure you submit it before May 14th!
