The Species in a Bottle is stocking in the GP Shop again! It contains two Silver Custom Crystals and three Silver Potions, at a cheaper price than buying all those items separately.
This item is having its own little deal like the GCC Deal. One of the Species Bottle artists will create you some SCC art based off keywords. The form will be as follows:

When you open your Bottle and get your SCCs you are still welcome to commission an official SCC artist by sending an SCC to Eri, or use completely different artwork for your SCCs or SPotions. You don't have to use the artwork provided to you and can sell it off if it doesn't suit you.
This deal will be active until May 8th, 2013 (two weeks). It may be renewed at that time.

Happy Earth Day!

If you've heard of a little place called Earth, you probably know that today is Earth Day!
Earth Day is a global movement now largely organized by the Earth Day Network to foster appreciation and awareness around the place we all call home. In honor of the planet's big day, Aywas is reaching out from the land of Ay and Ara to inspire some action in our own neck of the woods!
Turn in your old items for shiny Trash Points to exchange for our brand new set of Trash for Treasure pets!
This set of 9 pets is a permanent addition to the shop as their theme fits in quite well with the atmosphere. ;)
However, we also have some limited-time goodies!
6 Earth Day-themed pets (including the Welly and this Phanto) have been released into Adventure! To see the six pets and their locations, go to the Aywapedia and sort by newest. All the Earth Day pets are on pages 1-2.
5 pieces of a leaf-inspired HA collection have been added to the BP Shop. To see the style of the items, here is a preview of the Leaf Cloak and Leaf Dress:
The Adventure pets and Leaf HA items will be available through the end of April (April 30th at 11:59 p.m.).
For some IRL Earth Day fun, I put together a few links that celebrate our world and/or help to keep it healthy!
Google Earth. Can't travel? Explore the world from the comfort of your home!
National Geographic. Breathtaking images and a wealth of information.
iRecycle. This app is for iOS and Android and is a really great recycling tool. It breaks down materials into categories (you can recycle that?!) that you can narrow down to specific items and then locates the nearest facility that can recycle it for you. Pretty cool!

The art gallery has been judged!
The theme was Your Lair and I'm just going to say... I think we can all relate to these. XD
Here are our winners!

The current theme is Ara Backgrounds* and I have really been looking forward to this one.
It has some specific requirements, so listen up!
You might have noticed that some of our Ara locations re-use site page backgrounds from other Adventure areas, as well as images in the pane behind the main location image. This is a unique chance for you guys to submit entries to be used in those capacities!
The image must be 500 x 500 pixels. You do NOT need to fade the bottom out; we will do that.
The locations we're looking at are the Wasteland, Seaside, and Grasslands.
Since there will be six winners, depending on the submissions we'll try and incorporate three as default location backgrounds and another three as additional themes.
Edit: Forgot to mention that you can submit either a day or night version, and if you are a winner, I will contact you about the second one (typically the same image just with some color differences for lighting and fireflies and such). Obviously, the prize for next week will be a bit more hefty!
Remember, this is a starred contest, so anyone can enter!

State of the Auctions

Auctions are back up!
Admin auctions are in perfect condition, so to celebrate, we'll probably be throwing some fun things in there this weekend and beyond! (I'll make an announcement when I do so that you don't miss it/forget.)
Item auctions are in good condition. Some information for item auctions had been lost, but Yasu was able to reconstruct the tables and work with the data in our January backup. There's a little under 20 individual item auctions that still have some issues, so Yasu will be tending to those asap.
Pet auctions have a couple of issues. Like the item auctions, the pet auctions suffered an information loss, but some data was permanently lost from the downtime restore--specifically, our pet bid table. As a result, pets were returned to original owners but we cannot issue refunds for associated bids because we literally lost that record and Yasu cannot reconstruct it. :c I do apologize.
Moving forward, all three auctions are safe to use.
Since auctions were one of the last major pieces of the downtime cleanup puzzle, we will now be able to go ahead with the double BP event as compensation for lost funds, and we will also be issuing Care Packages to the newer accounts that had to be restored or had a severe delay in being accepted.
Stay tuned for details on these! I'll give you plenty of warning for the BP event so that you can hopefully take advantage of it and try to recoup some funds.
We are also working on some items to release for BP so that you'll have neat things to spend your extra dough on. :3

I remember when I was a kid and we would all go out to recess and have a contest... whoever could catch a ladybug won! Where I lived at that time they were really rare. Maybe 3 people the entire year would be lucky enough to find one.
