It's been a while since I've penned one of these hoojimaflips! Whatchamacallims! You know - an article of the written word!
Good evening, fine folks (and you, my goodness, you are looking especially swish today). I come bearing a small tidbit of information regarding custom items wot you ask me to release site-wide! From today onwards they will be placed in the Advent Calendar for you to pick up at your leisure, and will come accompanied by a thingmiebob such as this one to ensure everybody knows they have a treat to take home.
Now then! Wouldn't it be grand if I had a special little something for you today...?

Scav? Who's even thinking about that? Evil is afoot!
With Evil Breeding Coins still working their magic around Ay and Ara, hoards of sinister creatures have come out to crash the party!
One mighty undead king has arisen with his army of destructive minions to wreak havoc, and it's up to you to defeat him! Will you help the cause and battle his forces?
Some inhabitants have embraced the takeover and have turned themselves over to the darkness. Does your pet yearn to be evil and reign terror over the innocent? Show us how a pet of your choosing sports their evil pride!
Is all hope lost? Only time will tell... but you can join in the mayhem meanwhile, if you dare!

The above mini-contests will end the day before Scav, on Thursday July 25! They are meant to be fun supplements to having EBCs back for a short time, and things that won't interfere with your Scav preparations.
That is also a reminder that EBCs will officially be pulled from the GP shop on July 25 as well. Get them while they're hot!

Scavenger Hunt

The Scavenger Hunt feature is now linked in the Community tab.
All the judges have been chosen and have been assigned their roles. If you have any questions on a task, you should post it in the task's section in the Rules Forum. The task list has not yet been released and will be when the clock hits zero.
When the countdown hits zero, you may find the task list in your Team Base. You must be on a team to be able to view the task list. Please understand there will probably be a lot of lag when the event begins at midnight, as a lot of teams will be rushing to view the list.

New NPCs!

If you've been following our tumblr posts, you may know that we've been redesigning new NPCs to expand the lore universe and start working on worldbuilding. The five newest characters are now available in the Site Characters section. Hopefully they give their respective features some flavor!
If there are any pets you'd love to see turned into an NPC, do be sure to share that suggestion with us!

Information on Scavenger Hunt Prizes
I have spent a while crunching numbers and calculating the general worth of the previous year's Scavenger Prizes. One of the suggestions in the Scavenger Hunt board was to open up a prize shop where players could select the prizes that they desire, instead of getting a package of some desired and some potentially undesired prizes.
The Scavenger Hunt Prize Shop is what we will be experimenting with for this Scavenger Hunt. Items previously and newly available as prizes will be placed into the shop for their approximate GP value, and the players can distribute their earned points at the end of the event to purchase the prizes they value most.
Below are some of the prizes you can expect in the Prize Shop.

Effort Prizes
The Effort Prizes give a whole new dimension to the Scavenger Hunt game. You can choose to focus your efforts on turning out excellent quality task results instead of focusing on completing as many as possible.
An Effort Prize can be won by a single team member for their effort in creating an excellent task result.
One prize will be awarded to each single winner. The prize rewarded depends on the entry. Prizes will not be awarded more than once. This is the prize pot:

Winner's Stash
A special prize pot for winners, giving them a chance at one of the rare items... each time a ticket is pulled, the winner can select one prize, and so on until all prizes are declined.
