Rowan's Potion Brewing

"Oh hello everyone! How I've missed your lovely faces! If mine looks new to you, allow me to introduce myself. I am Rowan, and I'm delighted to meet you! You might know me from the Knowledge Base, but I also dabble in potions." She spoke quickly, her effervescent cadence in sync with the rhythm of her fingers drumming along her broomstick.
With a soft twirl of her wrist, a few plants from the Witch's Garden appeared above her hands and began dancing in a floating circle. "I do hope you've had good luck harvesting some of these plants from the garden! I assure you it's not as treacherous as Minerva makes it out to be." Rowan offered a reassuring smile and a wink, before revealing a set of eight shiny glass bottles.
"Tada! I've been pretty busy but I managed to create some brand new potions for this year using the latest, freshest herbs. I also brought back a few favorites from last year. Please enjoy!"
Our seasonal item crafting feature, Rowan's Potion Brewing, is now open!
Here's a quick guide to what each new potion does:
White Herb Potion: Unlocks the special forum title/achievement "Light Magic." I'm currently using this one, so you can see what it looks like by checking out any of my topics/posts.
Red Herb Potion: An alcohol/energy item with 10 charges.
Green Herb Potion: Random potion that will turn your active pet into one of 4 "super" pets. Your options are Super Koaf, Spiced Tea Raffi, Wild Yena, and Candy Corn Chorlu.
Gold Herb Potion: Will turn your active pet into a Broomstick Suune.
Black Herb Potion: Unlocks the special forum title/achievement "Dark Magic."
And for the three returning potions:
Banish Brew: Repels monsters for 100 steps in Adventure.
Potion of Transportation: Small chance of yielding a Scroll of Transportation!
Fertility Brew: Small chance of yielding a Fertility Potion!
You'll have almost two weeks to grab these, so get harvesting if you're a bit behind. :3
I will also be posting a timeline with deadlines this week to ensure you don't miss out on anything. <3
The herbs will also be used in our upcoming Giant Cauldron feature.
I will be posting more detailed information on this tomorrow, but the Cauldron is set to be open from October 29th - November 2nd (so that we get both weekend days in), and approximately 50 pets total will be put in, working out to about 10 a day.

Spooky Toes!

Halloween is tiptoeing ever closer!
Though, considering the 20 new pets that just made their way into the Spooky Forest, it sounds like it might be stampeding instead. ;)
Best of luck luring them back to your lair!
Don't forget to keep checking in on the Witch's Garden!
Rowan's Potion brewing is scheduled to open up later this evening, after which we'll be making an announcement about the famous Giant Cauldron.

Bumble Reminder

Good evening! :3 I have a few quick Bumble-centric updates for you.
The first is that Pirate has provided us with alternate shaded Bumble bases, which you'll notice are very similar to the style of the original Bumble glory. You can find all of the alt Bumble bases, including the new shading options, on the Alternate and Event PSDs thread.
Artist payment for the Bumble event has been completed! Please reach out to me if you did not receive yours.
I would also now like to formally congratulate Kya (#43493), who won the design raffle. :)
Congratulations!
Don't forget to pick up all of your Bumble goodies!
The Event Shop will be open through October 29th at 11:59 p.m.

GCC Design Team Returns!
New Feature
GCC Design Feature
About two years ago we had the "GCC Deal," where players could get a free design with their purchase of a Gold Custom Crystal, back when they were 50 GP. This feature is being reintroduced soon in a new package with some slightly different rules.
The GCC Design page, linked from the Shops navigation, is now the place where players can request designs. Requesting a design requires a Design Ticket. Some of you may still have Design Tickets in your inventories, and you're welcome to use them prior to their official re-release.
Artists may choose to apply to the team if they desire. The pay for the GCC Team is $15/pet. Artists can claim one submission at a time of their choosing, and when they finish it, they may move onto a new claim.
Design Ticket re-releases will occur on November 1, 2014.
This gives time for artists to apply to the feature (as well as existing Design Ticket holders to get a jump start on submitting their request). For the release, there will be a combination GCC + Design Ticket item in the USD Shop for $35 and the GP Shop for 75 GP. Choose your poison.

Awareness Days!

Today marks the start of Asexual Awareness Week. To recognize the week, we've decided to add a section to the sidebar with little icons linking to informational places for each event. AVEN is a good community and forum for asexual folks, and Ace Awareness Week, of course, has its own website.
Intersex Awareness Day is also today! ISNA is a good reference, and Bodies Like Ours is a support network and forum for intersex folks.
We can't always organize an event around important awareness dates, but we can provide some information for them on the sidebar when we have the chance to. If you'd like to see an icon show up on the sidebar, come check out this thread and fill out the form on the first post to make an awareness day suggestion. Be sure to include an item suggestion, as the item images link to informational websites!

Awakening the Lab!

Ahhhh, it's alive, it's alive!
Not the ice cream, silly -- Frankenstein's Lab!
Visit the lab to create pet projects with the gatherables you've been collecting in the Spooky Forest!
There are 12 pets for you to breathe life into, but here's a small sampling of what you'll be able to craft:
The lab will be open for approximately two weeks, so you will have plenty of time to nab the creatures you desire. :3
