Some Valentines Magic is in the air...

The Blind Date item is a fun new breeding coin that allows you to breed with another pet that used the item. You will either have your pet wait for the next player to use the item and breed with that player's pet, or your pet will breed with the previous player who used the item and is waiting for a partner.

This item is essentially like the holiday Delicious Eggnog, except there is no fail chance, and you have a little more control over the types of offspring you will get.

All offspring will be 30% edited, but you can provide five preferred common, uncommon, raw, trinket, token, or hybrid genuses in your breeding notes. Unlike the Eggnog, all breedings with this coin have a chance to roll a rare, and you can include a preferred genus for that too (not including a Xaoc).

You can find this item in the USD Shop for $35, or you can get a pack of three for $90 (save $5 per item!).

Interested in switching the Hidden Item (like Swim, Dig, Lockpick, etc) skills of two pets? You like adventuring with different pets, right? Well, this Premium Item allows you to swap the Hidden Item Skills of two pets you own.

Note, this doesn't affect the default genus skill. For instance, if you added Swim, Dig, and Fly to a pet that naturally knows Rock Smash, it would only transfer Swim, Dig, and Fly over to the other pet.

Interested in the new Blind Date item? Why not get some bonus items along with it? The Mystery Box Tickets are available for every purchase of $5 or more until midnight on the 3rd / 11:59 PM on the 2nd.

Some new items have been added to the mystery box as well: Fox Net, Sketch Artist Ticket, Blue Species Crystal, Sketch Breeding Coin, Jeweled Rare Crystal, Lesser Design Ticket, Greater MDT, Platinum MDT, Fox Box, Alidae Egg, Blind Date, Platinum Design Ticket, Greater Design Ticket.

Look forward to another post later today with all the new Jeweled Pets! JESTER & REUBEN (#585) have some nice pretties in store for you.

Discuss! Who was your favorite Eggnog artist from the previous round of Eggnogs, that you'd love to see invited to the Blind Date team? Heap some praise on the artists you LOVED!

New Knowledge Base Article and Small Updates

Site Update

Goto News Post

For a while now it's been said that crystal checking designs seems extremely complicated, and that while the old article was jam packed full of information... it was also a little daunting to read. I've had a lot of positive feedback about a guide I made on tumblr what seems an age ago, so I have updated it a little to fix my mistakes and have posted it to the knowledge base with hopes that the step-by-step guide will help even more people!

Along with it, you will see there have been some pretty major updates to modifiers - including some that have been asked for - to help simplify them for every day use.

I apologise that the transparency calculations section has not been completed yet,
but that part it turns out is trickier to explain and understand, and I want to make sure that it's crystal clear before unleashing it on you guys =)

There is also a slightly terrifying Humanoid rule article under way. I apologise in advance for any nightmares I cause (the mods still haven't forgiven me),
but I'm hoping to engage a real artist to do some better examples soon!

Hopefully all of this will help, and if there's still things that need some better explanation please let me know down below so I can see what I can do about clearing it up for you.

Accidental Neutering

Site Update

Goto News Post

Seems there's an unexpected issue with the audit queue where it makes pets that go through it unbreedable.

This should only affect the recent Silver Potion acceptances, as well as I believe two Metal Raffi. I have all the pet images that would have been affected on file - however I don't have the user IDs.

If you have been affected by this, please PM me with a link to your pet and I will fix it for you immediately.

I apologise profusely for this error, and hope to have it fixed shortly.

Small Changes to Commissions Feature

Site Update

Goto News Post

Some changes have been made to the Commissions Platform fee collection to better suit the feature and players now that it has been out for a number of months. Please review the changes below:

1) Fees will be collected on the last day of the month. We have found that the feature is not used often enough to merit collecting fees every week, primarily because of how small they tend to be, as per point #2.

2) Fees will only be collected at the end of the month if the fee amount is $1.00 or more. Anything less and it becomes a little pointless to invoice as PayPal will take most of it. If the fee amount in the artist's account is less than $1.00 at the end of the month, Aywas will wait until the end of the next month to invoice it, provided the fee amount reaches $1.00.

If you are confused about how fee collection works, you will receive a PayPal invoice to your PayPal-designated e-mail address and simply need to follow instructions on the invoice. Be sure to check your PayPal e-mail on January 31st, February 29th, etc!

Hope this helps streamline the fee collection! Have a good day, everyone~

The Cat's Out of the Bag!

Site Update

The spheres of ancient mewing fame have at long last returned to Adventure!

For those who weren't with us when these were first around, there are nine spheres which you collect and trade to Rogue's Zapping to activate the feature.

Once activated you can let Rogue cast his laser on your active pet and see what it'll do - from changing it's type from Light to Dark, or turning it into a random site pet, anything is possible... including a lot of nothing.

Please be aware the feature only works on pets that have not been locked =)

But where can you find these spheres, you ask? They're scattered around Ay:

Yellow: Bridge || White: Desert || Teal: East River

Red: Mountains || Purple: Scrublands || Pink: Fissures

Orange: Fields || Green: West River || Blue: Rainforest

Happy hunting!

Crystal Check Clear Up

Site Update

Goto News Post

As some may have noticed, the Crystal Check is slowly beginning to be worked on!

This is a shout out to ask that if you have a design in Crystal Check that has been processed by the Queues, could you please remove it while we process the backlog. This will help us get to the designs people have been unable to make much sooner.

Once we're up to date, if you still want a specific percentage for your accepted design we will be more than happy to do that for you =)

Thank you for your time, and as always please have a quick look below at the other news posts!

In for Repairs

Site Update

Goto News Post

Please excuse all the dust, we're taking the Slashbots to get some repairs and polished up. While we're busy with the makeover please refrain from sending in new slashbot, stuffing, or handheld world requests.

We'd hate for someone to get swept away while we're cleaning :D

Holiday Item Form

Site Update

Goto News Post

Holiday items now have a small requirement: please include the following form in the notes for your custom submission. The reason for the form is so I can know exactly where you're coming from with your custom's theme and how it applies to the item, and thus we can cut out any unnecessary back and forth, bringing you your custom faster and reducing the amount of rejections.

Edit Theme:
Marking Theme:
Color Theme:

I have compiled a list of some commonly seen edit themes, marking themes, and color themes for the two item sets (Orange and Candy Cane). You are welcome to use any of the samples from the list, or you may enter your own when you submit your item.

From the beginning of the December holiday season till now, there were 871 Delicious Eggnog breedings submitted. We are happy to announce that we focused a massive artistic and financial effort toward this enormous queue and have... zero left in queue! That's right, all Eggnogs have either been completed or are already assigned to an artist to be completed.

We know you probably didn't want to wait 6-8 months for your eggnogs to come in so we prioritized them during December and January to ensure that they didn't end up taking forever, nor slowing down the rest of the breeding queues due to sharing artists with the BC team.

Back to business as usual!
