Do you like making customs and custom designs? Make sure you're doing it legally.
Brushes/patterns from the internet CANNOT BE USED on an aywas image unless:
- it requires no credit
- it is allowed for commercial purposes
- you list EVERY BRUSH you use under the design in a "brushes/images used" section of your pet's profile, along with a link to the rules of the brush, and keep record of that on your pet forever
Google images or patterns you get off the internet CANNOT BE USED on an aywas image unless:
- it requires no credit
- it is allowed for commercial purposes
- you list EVERY IMAGE you use under the design in a "brushes/images used" section of your pet's profile, along with a link to the rules of the image, and keep record of that on your pet forever
Using images that do not belong to you and you do not have permission to use is THEFT and ILLEGAL. If you do it, we will ban you. So don't do it.
When in doubt, message a moderator with a link to your image/pattern/brush's rules and they will let you know if you can use it.
Suspicious that someone might be using an image without permission? Contact a moderator with a link to the thread.
If a moderator approaches you asking for information about your images, you are required to yield where you got the images from. If you made the image yourself, you are required to show progress layers that prove you are the original artist of the image. Be sure to keep them so you don't have any problems.
Aywas takes art theft very seriously, as we are an art community. We are cracking down on it, and there will be no hand-slapping for thieves.

So brushes are...? Like brushes in the program? *so confused* and images are when you just look up a custom pet and use that or look up say.....a flower and then draw that onto your pet?

To all who are confused: the built-in brushes for your art applications are probably fine, no credit required. When you buy or (in the case of GIMP) download the program, it comes with a commercial licence authorizing you to make derivative works with those brushes/program as much as you want.
What's NOT allowed is to take after-market (custom brushes) that someone else made, plug them into your program, and use them without credit. You are in effect stealing that person's work if you do this, especially if their brushes are for "non-commercial use only".
Custom brushes you made 100% yourself are fine too.

@ GrayGriffin - I'd imagine this applies doubly so to site-pets, since they are in effect being sold to Aywas, and that defines it as a commercial transaction.

If anyone's gotten customs from me in the past don't hesitate to pm me with an image link! I can tell you if it was one of the few designs I've used non default brushes on or not XD ~doesn't use non defaults very often~

I think I'm using the brushes I have downloaded in accordance with the ToS from the creators, but just to be sure, I'll remove the two designs I have for sale with downloaded brushes until I can remake them with my own custom-made brushes.

Yeah, but I meant, would you have to record the info about the brushes you used somewhere? Would everyone who got a sample of that pet have to record that info on their pet's page?

Give me time to find the links and alert all my customers of what they have to do please. Thanks. ^^
