TOS Update - 2/23/2011

Rules

An update has been made to the Terms of Service.

Please read the document in full for the changes. Points of interest are:

- stricter rules against users who submit fraudulent transactions via the Purchase GP feature

- a "no begging" rule

- a "no reserving posts in official Aywas contests" rule

- fixed link to newsletter deactivation

- requirement to submit accurate information during account creation and maintenance and to not provide fraudulent information in any situation

I know this news post is boring compared to shiny stuff with cute pets and items, but... :( It's needed.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the "no begging" rule, regardless.

I'm happy to see the "no reserving posts" rule. :D That seemed a little strange to me.

Yesssssss. Now I won't have to go through 7 pages of posts to find 3 or 4 actual entries.

This list was definitely needed! So many necessary rules~ ah, this will make Aywas even better (if that were at all possible). XD

It saddens me to see some of you didn't read the TOS when you registered. :/

I'm kind of creeped out by the accurate information rule... I don't like giving out my real information over the internet, especially if I don't know whether or not I'll want to continue using a website after trying it out for a day or two.

Also, Slash - even if people do read the TOS, it's possible they just forget things over time, or get them mixed up with other sites' TOS.

It's a pretty simple rule, and it basically means don't claim you're someone else if you aren't.

*nods* Totally, I get where you're coming from Slash. Who should I contact, to find out if I registered with my real name or not? *simply cannot remember whether I used Vladimir Carnstein - an RP character of mine - or my real name* I can't seem to find anything under 'Account' that tells me. If I did register as Vlad, I'm happy to change it, assuming that there's a way to do so.

In essence - as long as you aren't claiming to be Bob Smith and stole Bob smith's paypal account to purchase stuff, you're fine. A lot of those rules are because I'm tired of being scammed.
