Pets
After a long day and night of debating minuscule changes (but hey, it made it look better), we finally came to a decision regarding the melo. It's going into a revamp, and we've fixed things as much as we could to make as many people happy as possible while still retaining sensibility to our style.
Submit new Melo Colorations!
If you are unhappy with the melo's new lines, you should be pleased to know that we are coming out with another set of crystals that will let you submit old lineart pets directly without having to make them as new lineart pets first.
Thanks for sharing all your opinions, comments, and fixes, and we hope you can enjoy the new melo. We will let you know when the revamp is complete (when all site colors have been revamped). Until then, feel free to submit old lineart melos as you desire.
There's an Ay feline pet coming soon too... look forward to it!

The point still stands, though. Why bother polling if you're not going to do whatever you want anyway?

Also: "Hey Canadian government! Someone took a poll, and the majority of people don't want the Conservatives in power, so kick Stephen Harper out of office." Does it make sense? Yeah, totally. Is it put into practice? No. If the government of a country doesn't necessarily take actions based on the opinions of a few million people, why expect one individual, who runs this site for their own pleasure as much as for profit, to do any different?

"Why bother polling if you're going to do whatever you want anyway?" Oh yes. Because there would have been so much less of a stink being made if Slash had just made a news post saying, "Hey, look at our new Melo" without even asking if anyone liked it. :S The way it was done, it incited discussions, gave us the opportunity to make changes. The revamp people who worked for days in those threads making tiny little changes here and there were working together to find something they could all agree on. The reline people stood there, said "I don't like the redraw", and didn't participate. Hell, I wanted the reink, until this latest thread when I finally saw something that looked like what I'd always wanted for the Melo, then the redraw won me over. But you have one group working hard to try and get their side, and the others basically saying "yeah we want the reline" /done. The redraw people worked hard. And none of that would have happened if Slash hadn't polled us, rather than just toss the new Melo up and say, "Here, deal with it."

I'm really not trying to be a buttface, here, I promise. But it is irrelevant how hard people worked on the redraw. It isn't about the redraw. It's about the poll. The poll was for A. A reline, or B. The redraw. Most people wanted a reline, but it was disregarded. It's like saying "Which one do you want?" and then saying, "We asked to give the illusion that we care, but we don't. We're doing what WE want." That's just how I feel. And to be honest the redraw doesn't matter that much to me. Lol. I'll just wait for another species to come out that I like.

You're missing my point, though. My point is that the poll was never meant to make the decision FOR Slash. It was meant to gauge reactions. So Slash knew how many people would be displeased. In the end, it's HIS site. It's HIS decision. The polls opened up debate in the forums, which opened up the chance for US to try to change HIS mind. THAT was the purpose of the poll. (I'm not trying to be a buttface either. It just...it's the whole breeding offspring debacle all over again, people acting like having a say in the site is a RIGHT instead of a privilege. Slash could easily run this place as an autocracy, like most other pet sites. But go with the minority on a single poll and suddenly Aywas is a dictatorship and Slash is a horrible mod etc etc etc).

...I'm not talking about the Phanto revamp. I'm talking about this situation, happening now. You asked why the majority didn't win in regards to the reline. That's what I answered. I wasn't around during the Phanto revamp debate. I don't know what was going on in the forums at that time. *shrug*
