Site Update

The plushes arrived on Friday (Bah!!!), so we will start shipping them out Monday.

You will notice all eggs returned from v2 and should be back under the Phoenix Tree. Feel free to hatch them if you haven't already. Referrals have also been transferred over.

We are working hard to fix glitches. Please stay tuned and we should have some new content for you soon. Here's a fun fact: I have all the ara pets sorted into explore locations, and there are about 40 pets per location and about eight new locations!

NOTE: There is a very obvious glitch in explore where you are able to capture limited pets. If you get one, DO NOT CATCH IT, and if you already did, send it to me. Anyone caught with a limited from explore after reading this news post will be considered abusing a glitch. If you aren't sure whether your new pets are glitched, ask the help board. They will know.

It's possible that people didn't know they were limited. So far as I can tel, there is no way to know if a pet you caught is "Limited" unless you ask in the Help Forum. I hope they'll make a News Post when this is fixed because I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't want to have to post every single pet they catch in the Help Forum to figure out if it's limited or not. (I'll just wait until it's fixed to explore, and hopefully the 10-AU-forever thing will be fixed by then, too.)

I never understood this whole 'abusing a glitch' thing. I mean, isn't it *your* job to make sure glitches aren't there? Why should someone be punished for taking advantage of an opportunity, especially when they don't even know that it's a glitch? If a pet is available for capture, I consider it available for capture. I shouldn't have to go forum-searching for every new pet I find to see if I can 'legally' catch it.

It's also "our" (the players) job to help find glitches... If you haven't noticed, this game is a beta which means by joining you agree to help find and report bugs.

But how are we to know what's a glitch and what isn't? Most people who caught something limited probably just thought they were really lucky. There are so many new monsters and features and things, how can we know which ones are supposed to be catchable and which aren't? I think expecting people to ask the forum about every lucky score is a bit unreasonable.

It's not hard, Sam. The ones you're not supposed to catch are Retireds, Admin Distributeds and some Extincts.

It even tells you what rarity they are when you encounter them! Or, if for whatever reason it doesn't, check the Aywapedia.

No need to go "forum searching".

Actually, I was told in the Help Forum that two of my pets were to be returned to User #1. The first was an Arctic Marbled Fox, which the Aywapedia lists as "Near Extinct". The second was a Grape Vyne, which the Aywapedia lists as "Overpopulous". If it were as simple as turning in anything marked Exitnct in the Aywapedia, that wouldn't require Forum Searching. But when an "Overpopulous" Grape Vyne has to go back but an "Overpopulous" Corvus Reve does not... or when a "Near Extinct Marbled Fox has to go back, but a "Presumed Extinct" Ice Leopard is fine... How are we supposed to know what's "limited" and what isn't? Could they produce a list of what exact pets need to be returned? Then we wouldn't have to go to the Help Forum every time. Other than an official list, I just can't find any way to figure out which ones are "limited" and which are not.
