Hi guys! Here's something I've been thinking about: many of you seem to really dislike the phanto, and I'd like to ask: why? Is it because it's not animal-enough? What about the design or pet in general do you dislike?
We have been considering changing the phanto into a ghost dog-like sort of thing (not necessarily a dog, but a ghost quad). Would you like the phanto more this way? Do you prefer it the way it is now? We want you to be happy!
Please share your thoughts!

I'd like them to be more animal-like, but mainly it's the expression that puts me off. xD

I'd like them to be more animal like. Or changed in some way. I dunno why they're just... not as cool as the other species.

i like them how they are but being pretty new to the site i would not be against a redrawn. there will always be people who like it and some that don't. put up a sketch and let us vote! maybe the redraw will please the majority but just the idea can be sort of scary, people don't like change.

Haha I'm very flattered that so many people like my sketch. The head being tilted back serves several purposes, the upwards angle gives it a more menacing feeling, it makes the hair seem a bit more natural, and if you look I also hid a lot of the hair behind the body so it wouldn't be like an automatic Gold-maker anymore to edit it. xD
Oh and let me say I'd LOVE to do more beautiful Phanto colors. Since they are themed after abstract/elemental/fantasy type stuff (fire/the sky/etc) there is no reason why they shouldn't all be sparkly and detailed and epic.

The thing is we got a few of 'em released in the beginning by default... and not much else. We haven't had an Aywasplosion in ages, and the pet suggestions forum has kind of languished. I'm sure there are some cool ones in there that would be awesome on the site (I know Beer had a Beer Phanto made), but we mainly only get pets accepted/released in monthlies and through revamp threads these days. There are some good ones suggested as monthlies (I've got a few cool Phantos entered this time around) they just haven't been placing every month.
I think the Phanto problem would be solved in three easy steps:
1. Release Fuu hybrid, massively increasing demand for pretty Phantos
2. Revamp Phantos with all these suggestions and complaints in mind (lol you can use my sketch if you want Slash)
3. Make new coloration/revamp thread and let everyone go crazy.

Skitty's Redraw is boss. I like the more ghostlike vibe. They're too cute right now. The need to be spooky.

I like the general idea of the phanto actually I just wish it was more scary or creepy =/ ther eis just something about "cute" like ghost pet that doesn't appeal to me very much, but they are okay other wise, I like a lot of there colors.

I reckon it's the expression that puts me off. The Phanto redraw on Slash's 'dat hair' thread has the most wonderful devious expression... breathes such a lot of life into the the creature as a whole. I would be open to seeing a sketch of a quad ghost. Definitely sounds unusual. xD
