Okay so KB mentions that we can't reshade or recolour our monster, we can only add edits... But we have to "fill" those edited parts with some shading and colours, no? How would that work? I mean, we can't just add bare lines to the moster xD

Reshading and recoloring refer to altering the original coloring or shading - since the edits would be new, there's no pre-existing coloring or shading to alter, if it helps to think of it that way. For your other question, you don't need to use a Recolor Potion on a monster in order to add edits to it; as long as the monster is under the "Available" list in the KB article, you can use the Monster Pen on it.
