If you go out in the woods Sunday...

Events

On 9th September 2018 we will be putting up a thread in the Event Forum for you to post Teddy Bear inspired customs! It's time to recreate some of those cuddly bundles of love many of us enjoyed as kids.

One pet per user (multi-person lairs can submit one each, must post individually). Common, Uncommon and Token genuses only.

All eligible entries under 75% edited will be placed in your lair by the end of the week (being the following Sunday).
(All normal rules and modifiers apply, so please keep that in mind!)

FAQ:

Does it have to be a teddy bear?
Yes. Adding patches, stitches, and some button eyes to otherwise metal pets MAY be accepted if they are cuddly toy enough, but if you're editing beyond that bear it must be!

Isn't this a little late notice?
On the one hand you voted for this a year ago... On the more honest and practical hand yeeeah just a little BUT I know you all crank out the most amazing customs with a time limit - something about it gets those creative juices flowing!

Can I make a lineart for the repository like last year?
Absolutely - best to make a thread in the Free PSDs forum just in case our repository gremlin doesn't get to it in time!

What if the entry is over 75% edited, IE a SCC species?

would it really have been this terribly inconvenient to answer to questions asked? I dont THINK this event is meant for only the US userbase, but this starts to look like it is.
The main teddi bear day may be on the 9th, but literally nothing is stopping admins from going "ah. well we can elongate the submission period for ONE day."

I am kind of getting worried. Hot Dog Day was very clear about being able to submit something that either WAS a hot dog or was HOLDING a hot dog(s), but we still haven't gotten an answer yet, which just gives custom makers less and less time, especially since there are plenty of pets under the genuses that just can't be made to look like bears due to how the genus is, and from the looks of it, passing a pet that's a plush but not a bear is going to be iffy at best.

The seemingly short submission period and only a week's warning is also kind of an issue, especially since a lot of artists are still working on PPP things.

Kousei (#25044) Would you happen to know the answer to any of these questions? <3

With so many people working on PPP still, and not being able to art myself, I wont be participating. I cant afford a rush job on a coloration AND a secondary event going on too to limit the pool of artists even farther. :( . Shame too, It's a really cute idea.

Sorry folks, unexpected blight fell over the house and I couldn't get to the computer to handle the questions properly.

PUNKawaii (#68611) & Vixen (#66196) - Alts as in Old/Imay/Sitting Melo, yes. Alts as in LP#9, the Halloween or Aymas alts, no.

Spider Boy (#64689) - As stated, you can add stitches, patches, and button eyes to any genus and that would pass as a "teddy beared" pet. Otherwise, yes, it has to be a bear. it can be a hear holding a teddy bear or other plush, but a bear it must be!

Prof JaMEW (#2712) - The point of the event is that you have 24 hours to submit a design to the thread. You're given advance warning so you can be ready to do so. I'm quite sure that most everyone can find the two minutes to link an image in a forum post =)

Barajou Ghost (#20789) - Nope, as long as we can tell it's a teddy!

*JACKAL* (#34396) - If you plushify the meep as explained then that should be fine.
Prof JaMEW (#2712) - Yes, I understand they were important however I have been exceedingly ill and unable to communicate with fellow staff members to answer your questions, and while I understand it's frustrating there was absolutely nothing I could do since I believed the instructions were exceedingly clear and did not need further elaboration. In addition, I'm not US based so if I was going to skew anything I'd have skewed it to my time because it would be infinitely easier for me than constantly adhering to US time-frames =)

Cryptidâ„¢ (#79065) - SCC species are not permitted for this, as per the rules stated in the news post.

Trying to make the rule a little more clear:
Adding patches, stitches and button eyes to a metal base will be acceptable. You can also give it a teddy of it's own, a ribbon around it's neck, and other paraphernalia.

What you cannot do is create any design you want (be it an eldritch horror with 500 eyes and dripping with gooey ooze, or a bunny rabbit) and add stitches and go "it's clearly a teddy bear".

Does that help any? ^^;

I know you cannot use these designs (because they are not one of the accepted Common, Uncommon, or Token genuses) but they show you what I mean by adding patches, stitches and button eyes to a metal base:
Monaku, Aymas Reve, Reindeer Bell.

As you can see they also have other small edits like burst stitches with stuffing showing, bows and ribbons. They are not changed into other animals or creatures, they are the metal base created into a plushie toy. This is acceptable.

Coming up next are teddy bear site pets - they are a genus changed into a teddy bear: Bumble, Meep, Phanto

You can make any of the acceptable site genuses into a teddy bear, but you cannot - for example - make a Chiro into a plushie bunny, that would not pass.

Thanks for the clarifications Eve, and I hope you're feeling better now
