You’ve decided this will be your last run to Minerva’s greenhouse-maybe you’re starting to feel bad because the poor Griffin has had to deal with enough of your shenanigans, or maybe your feet are just tired of all the running you have to do to dodge her.
To your surprise, Minerva isn’t even there! Instead, you find Pablo, a bag over their shoulder half-filled with broken shards of glass, trampled plants, and candy wrappers. “Kids these days," they mutter, “destruction and trash wherever they go. Oh well. Some of these will make fine materials…"
You have a very good idea of the lecture that would come if you stuck around long enough for them to see you...so off you go.
Congratulations to Greta’s Implings on surrendering the most candy to their overlord!
And to the victors go the spoils…
Implings will receive a copy of the Greta’s Impling Vista 2017! This will be applied directly to your account-go to Settings > Edit Account > Forum Settings to use it!
For everyone else, you can find Greta's Impling Vista 2017 and Aketch's Minion Vista 2017 in the Seasonal Shop!
Top participants on each team will get a special title based on their karma! These titles are Sweet as Candy and Trickster for positive and negative karma respectively!
Everyone who participated in the event (meaning you donated something or helped with one of the sub-events) will receive the Candypocalypse 2017 Trophy!

Our favorite Halloween Concoction #13 has some new linesets added to it!
The Pumpkin Patch will stop taking deposits tonight (the 5th) at 11:59pm AST!
That’s right, you will no longer be able to deposit things into pumpkins after tonight! You’ll still be able to grab a pumpkin once every ten minutes until they’re all gone, though.
Trick or Treating and Minerva’s Greenhouse will close tomorrow night (the 6th) at 11:59pm AST, along with Frankenstein’s Lab and Rowan’s Potion Brewing!
After tomorrow night, you will no longer be able to Trick or Treat or harvest plants! You will also no longer be able to cook up pets or potions, so be sure to finish up your mad science experiments soon!
Please note that this is different timing from the Pumpkin Patch!
Rowan looks around the garden, wincing a little at the mess that had been left behind; Halloween always seemed to come with a lot more destruction than anticipated. Her hands grip her broom a little tighter as she looks around, planning where to start when a voice calls out to her.
"Rowan, is that you?"
The Quetzal shifter broke into a grin as she heard Minerva's voice, looking around again to try and find where it came from.
"Minerva?" she giggled. "Where are you?"
"Follow my voice. You'll find me."
Rowan gave a puzzled but amused look as she hops on her broom and starts to look for her. "You know, it helps if you keep talking if I'm meant to follow your voice."
"I thought you said you'd know where I was anywhere in the world?"
"I apparently thought I was a better witch than I am," she grinned, honing in on her voice and flying faster in that direction.
The deeper into the garden she flew, the darker it became - until all of a sudden there was a faint glow. Curious she pressed onwards, hopping off the broom as she comes to a pathway lit with black and red candles.
"Minerva..?"
"Follow the path." The voice seemed slightly exasperated - apparently she wasn't following some very pointedly laid out directions.
Rowan slowly walks up the path, looking around her to make sure this wasn't one her elaborate Halloween tricks, ready to thwack her with her broom if this was another jump-scare like last year.
The path eventually opens up to a clearing, candles hanging from lanterns on the tree branches, a sea of red and gold snapdragons etching out the shape of a heart. Minerva stood at the centre, looking a little pleased with herself, and more than a little nervous.
"I managed to save them... it was hard to stop those little b- people from ruining everything." She smiled and ducked her head a little, not quite sure how to take Rowan's silence. "So I... erm. I know how special today is for you, and... Well I'm hoping I'm not about to ruin it." She coughs a little, fidgeting nervously. "I mean, we've been together a while now, and I... well, you know. I care about you. A lot. And I want to keep caring about you, and for you... and, well..."
She holds up a ring with a sheepish smile.
Rowan stands perfectly still, staring at her silently.
Minerva palms the ring with an embarrassed flush. "But obviously not. Forget it, forget I said anything, I sh-"
She doesn't get to finish the sentence as Rowan flings herself at her with a squeal. "Yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes - give me that ring, you stupid woman, how could you ever think I'd say no?!"
Minerva flushes even redder as she slips the ring onto Rowan's finger, kissing her hand with a smile. "I love you."
Rowan gently takes Minerva's face into her hands and kisses her softly. "And I love you. This is the best Halloween present ever."
Back at Rowan and Minerva's cottage everyone was waiting in anticipation of the good news... all except two conspicuously missing persons...
No one really missed that Aketch wasn't there - they usually were asleep. But Greta? Greta never missed an opportunity to sour any good occasion - and yet was nowhere to be seen…
Rowan and Minerva, at the very least, seem to have their happy ending! But what will become of Greta and Aketch? Tune in next time to find out!
The Jeweled and Rock custom bases will be coming tomorrow!

Nemesis Valkyrie (#476) Last year there was a whole separate shop with candy as the currency, so "less" isn't really a useful or meaningful metric, is it?
I'm not sure why staff is being so recalcitrant about something that literally everyone with an opinion seems to want. ToT acts as a BP sink that offsets the huge mess of BP people make adventuring over Halloween and doesn't carry over to next year unlike pumpkins, so I'm not sure why you'd want to make it useless.

Phoenix Talion (#63726) We were clear and upfront with candy. The whole point of the event was to donate candy to either overlord, and to come together as a community. As such, because it was for the event, it isn't 'useless' at all. We clearly stated candy would not be a major currency. Logically, because this was always intended to be a community event, the next step would be to come together again and exchange currencies, to help one another get what they want from the seasonal shops.
I believe it has been stated by another staff member, but there will be no more changes to the shops, and no exchanges this year. This is the last we will comment on the subject.

Ugh do we really want the staff to go "There will be four candy items and they are: blah blah blah..."?! I sure don't. Yes, I have a lot of candy left over but it was a chance I took. They never said don't hunt for pumpkins... Actually, they kept sending us to adventure which was how I got most of my pumpkins.
I liked this halloween. Was it the best, no, but I can't complain. They put a lot of work into it and I find it wrong that so many are in a huff over this or that. I'd hate to see them be completely transparent and just tell us what will be for sale... It would take away all the mystery and fun.

Nemesis Valkyrie (#476) No, you were not clear and upfront, or there would not be dozens of people commenting that the information they were given was misleading. Saying you were does not magically make them disappear. Pretending that trading items on the forums is the next 'logical step' or 'part of the fun' is flat out disingenuous, particularly when numerous people have pointed out it *won't work* simply based on supply and demand.

Oh good grief I'm annoyed.
My karma is extremely bad because of the ghost poop task, and I just did not have the funds to justify going back to good. I couldn't get Aketch to appear.

I think the main problem here is that I never felt like I -should- be doing the tons of adventuring that the past events expected, and I'd honestly kind of hoped that I didn't have to. But now I don't know if I even have time to get the pumpkins I need.

Nemesis Valkyrie (#476) Actually, what the news post says is, and I quote, "Candy *will* still be a shop currency as well, so spend wisely. There will be less pets and items for sale for candy this year, however there will be 2 big ticket items."
You know, emphasizing that candy will still be spent in the shops and not to give it all to our overlords. Like a fool, I assumed these 'big ticket items' would be something I actually wanted rather than something I got automatically for participation.
