"I suppose I can take a break from stealing your candy to give you some updates!"

The moon rises over a winding road that leads to a fork in the road. As if by magic, a path clears leading towards the shining surface of the Haunted Lake. It looks like the Haunted Lake will be the seasonal region this year!

While visiting the Haunted Lake, be sure to collect any Melo Pumpkins or Halloween Pumpkins you may find. As always, they will be useful later in the month. You will also find that there are returning faces to the Haunted Lake as well as new ones! They can't wait to meet you and join your lair - they love having new places to haunt!

For those of you who wish to kick up your Trick or Treating just a notch, then Querel has a new store for you! The Bubbling Cauldron is stocked full with spells to help you on your Trick or Treat adventure!

A few short notes about the new shop! Hovering over the spell's icon will show you details as to what the spell does. All spells in Querel's shop cost spell points and require a certain amount of Karma. Spell Points are accrued when you fulfill the requests of visitors at your door. Karma is not a currency and will not be lost upon purchasing a spell, but a certain amount of it is necessary as a requirement for purchase. Please note that there are two types of karma - trick and treat - and the spells will tell you what type they require.

Additionally, you may have noticed that the Site Characters have been paying you Trick or Treat visits. It may benefit you to return the favor. Who knows what tricks and treats you may find!

Those of you familiar with our usual Halloween garden will find that it's had an update this year! This year the seasonal magic has brought you Minerva's Greenhouse!

Minerva's Greenhouse is a little different in that you will be able to directly harvest the plants you wish to obtain for Rowan's Potion Brewing, Frankenstein's Lab, and Custom Cauldron. However, underneath each plant you will find a "Success Chance". This chance will decrease the more you harvest, which increases the odds of Minerva catching you.

If Minerva catches you, your success chance will drop to 0% and you will be unable to harvest for a period of time. Your success chance will restore over time, giving you another chance to evade Minerva for those goods she's been hoarding in that greenhouse!

As a smaller update, the returning features of Rowan's Potion Brewing and Frankenstein's Lab will be releasing/updating with new stock very soon! A news post will come when that update is finished.

As for the much anticipated Custom Cauldron, you can expect that as well a bit later this month. We want to make sure that everyone has a chance to stockpile the necessary ingredients!

I'm on mobile only for a while and have no way to see what these spells do...

Tae (#66637) I'll have our coder look into it, I'm not sure why they aren't showing up in inventory. Hopefully the coder can figure out why the greenhouse is doing that. I've reported it to them, so hopefully a fix is coming soon!

Ivory Ebena (#43812) The spells should be applied and already appear on you "Halloween Status Panel" found to the left of your screen. This panel does not automatically update, so you may need to refresh the page to see them active. You'll see what spells you have active as they will appear in the small boxes at the bottom of the panel.

Thanks Hiiro ^ ^ I wasn't sure if it was a new change or a glitch so figured I'd leave a note about it.

I think the 'spells' NPCs are giving (not the ones from the shop) are not spells but just a count of candy. Like for example, if you get a 'double' spell, it means you get two candy, a triple spell means three candy... etc. At least thats what it looks like to me.
Also great idea with Slashbot XD *giggles* much nicer than flinging poop at people with low karma :P

Awesome updates!!
I am wondering if the faux box is going to update with the October theme? I've been waiting to color my sets assuming it'll be halloween, but want to wait to make sure.

Hiiro (#755), Are the News notifications broken? I haven't gotten one in over a week and I don't always remember to check the News.

hi I think something's wrong with the halloween pumpkin because no matter how much I adventure or collect them, my count stays at 7

Tae (#66637) The inventory bug with greenhouse was fixed :)

Tee Hi <3 (#39846) Notification alerts have been showing for me, so as far as I know they aren't broken. You can try checking your account settings to make sure your Notification settings aren't disabled. If they are all checked and you still aren't getting notification alerts, please PM staff and we'll see what is going on.

Terrabella (#30421) The pumpkin totals are updating correctly for us. I'm not sure what would be causing them to show incorrectly for you. If the numbers do not update after refreshing the page, please PM staff with as much info as you can and we'll look into it!
