Over The Rainbow

Site Update

Whether rainbows are a sign of floods, pots of gold, or about a sense of Pride - they're awfully pretty to look at!

As a nod to Pride Month we're bringing you five rainbow themed pets to colour.

The only rules are that you cannot edit the PSDs, use the edits in part or full on other Gen1 designs (or Gen2+ with Magic Marker/Fox Pen etc), and you cannot recolor the rainbow edit.

These designs can only be made with the Pocket Rainbow, which you can pick up from Advent for free tomorrow!

Don't panic - we wouldn't give you 5 designs and no way to make them all. The item is also stocking until the end of June in the following stores:

BP Shop - 3,500,000 BP
GP Shop - 5 GP
Premium Purchases - 200 PP
Trash For Treasure - 5,000 TP

The item will not retire, so you can indefinitely make these 5 designs with their custom item - and we have a Knowledgebase Article for them to always be accessible to you.

Our many thanks to Kaiyo (#489) and Dreyja (#3360) for the wonderful designs (and a shout out to Kousei (#25044) for adding some rainbow magic) - we hope you enjoy them and look forward to seeing what you do with them!

I do understand that, I'm just confused as to why it has to be so restrictive. It's still a small nod to pride even if we can honor specific pride flags in addition to the umbrella flag.
(please don't take this as me not being grateful, as these little buggers are cute as all get out, just genuinely curious why it has to remain the default rainbow)

Darsh & Zel (#43) Interrupting Eve because I am a brat <3 One of the main reasons for this restriction is, unfortunately, the last time we had a design where users could choose how their flag was colored we had some extremely distasteful things tried to be submitted. Things that were not in the honor of Pride month, acceptance, or any form of love. We wanted to avoid that this time, so that we did not have disgruntled users getting their designs rejected, or risk our user base or staff having to see these things. We know that people could still color their pet in that way, but we felt it was safe to go the rainbow route.

Ahhh, gotcha. That makes plenty sense to me.
Thank you for the clarification!

I have to agree with folks above--I'd love to have the pan and trans rainbows on that Pani for instance. Ah well. Are we allowed to adjust the hues at all? My color vision isn't great, and I can't distinguish between the blues and purples in the rainbows very well, making it look like there's twice as much blue as any other color, which is a little awkward?

Whoops, didn't see the addendums on page two. That's so unfortunate. And I guess asking for folks to mention the relevant pride flag in the custom creator notes would be a pain for folks accepting them. Ah well. It's a shame, but I get it now.

I also wish I could so a pan or trans rainbow, but I can still do that in the coloration on the pet, so that's perfectly fine with me. These things are cute as heck and I love that little face on the alaroo
