Site Update

collectable_mysteryboxticket.pngcollectable_magicbox.gifcollectable_mysteryboxticket.png

That's right, it is time for the Mystery Box! Our favorite box will open tonight at 11:59 PM AST and close Sunday, April 2nd, at 11:59 PM AST. For every purchase of $10, you will receive 1 Mystery Box Ticket, which can grant you a wide variety of items, including Xaoc Elixirs, Breeding Coins, and custom making items!
Remember, this bonus only works per purchase. So if you spend $15 today, then $5 tomorrow, you will not get a second ticket.

I would also like to bring everyone's attention to a new thread that Eve has posted: Community Project: New User Guide

We all know that the Newbie Guide is outdated and kind of unpleasant to look at, so we want to give it a revamp with more useful information. So, this is where we are asking for help from all of you! Go check it out and read what Eve has written, we can't wait to see what you all come up with!

Edit Oops! I forgot to mention that I am extending the Easter HA and Pet submissions until the 10th! So get your art in~!

Floating is worse though, because if you aren't able to be online a lot because of school or work you are going to miss out on getting the currency versus say being able to spend an hour or two getting adventure currency on a weekend or something. Both will favor some one who is online a lot, but with adventure currency there at least is more of a balance than having to wait 30 seconds to 1 min for the graphic to show up on a screen, and if you are buying things say from one of the shops it'll show up on the auto refresh page that there is no way to stop in between, or say on the confirm page for putting an egg in the Easter field.

Now if the floating currecy showed up until you clicked on it, say it shows up on a confirmation page and you get put right onto the next page, and the thing would show up on the next page as well, it would alleviate the problem a little, as people would not miss out as much... but over all for people who are busy because of school, work, family stuff you get a lot more of the currency from doing an adventure currency if you can spend say 30 min / hour on a day you have off (weekend, watching tv before bed) than you would with a random every 10 min pop up currency that may or may not show on a page that will not let you stay on the page to see if it will load.

On the other hand, adventure currency doesn't come without its own downsides - from what I remember, shop prices are balanced against the average amount of currency on site, or something along those lines?

So people who can adventure all day are still rewarded more than users who only check in for a small chunk of time each day. I don't think there'll ever be a way to make it entirely fair on users who aren't able to be on 24/7, without putting limits on things, which would then "punish" the people willing to put in a bigger effort, etc. etc.

Hard to balance things out like that.

On a more related topic, hurray for extensions! I wanted to try some metal colours for the Easter pets and didn't have time this last week to do anything. <3

Maybe instead of creating a new guide from a scratch you'd just direct people to this cool user made newbie guide? :O

Okie

Tho with adventure, Ive been in the past exploring for hours and never being able to get more than 10 or so of the currency within that time..

Whereas with floating currency I've always been able to get the max amount or close to the possible max amount

~

Floating currency is good if you're the sort of person to pop on every few mins

Adventure currency is good if you're willing to spend hours in adventure and let luck decide wether you find any or not

I prefer exploring since least then I'm getting lots of trash points/ claw cloners / items/ bp so even if I get no event currency I get things for the time spent . I can have a video playing or be in call with someone and just mindlessly click without needing to wait thanks to a 8 year old laptop and a 10 year old router.

BUT since I just updated my internet router the floating currency probably wont be near as tedious as before.

Ya'll are getting quite in depth with this. However I can guarentee you yes, we will do floating currency again, and yes we will do adventure currency again. However Easter is going to be neither.
Haru & Kylo (#46917) That is awesome but we need the writer to post it in the thread, so we can properly credit them for anything that we use from it

🎁❄Kaiyo❄⛄ (#489) I know the writer hasn't logged in since October so I said you could just direct people to it.

Like, "look there's a cool guide made by this one person we recommend reading it!" xD
