Hey all,
A super quick announcement and amendment to our Welcome To January (and Breeding Season) news post!
We have had the Wiglen in production since ~ July, it was a leftover from that set of breeding season sketches. We decided to release it this season since it's all tadpole and cute!
Along with the Wiglen, we have a group of unused sketches that our genus artist has made over the years but not used. Staff thought what we named the Lodon was a good fit for Oske x Pani, and so we had our artist finish that one up. Often our artist will sketch 3-4 poses and ideas for each genus we request (each sketch typically VERY different from the others), and the Lodon looked like it may have been a Miokit sketch. We did, however, double check with all members in authority to make sure this sketch had not been used for any other reason, and were told it was definitely available.
However, that was not the case, and this cute creature was actually a SCC made for a user back from when our genus artist made SCCs for users. (Quite some time ago!). We're not sure where our communication got crossed, but we're pretty upset that this happened and we want to apologize whole-heartedly to the user involved. ;-; <3 The user that owns the species will be more than welcome to take the 400x400 PSD and shading if they wish, along with something else we'll be sending their way.
With that, the "Lodon" is no more, at least in its official capacity! It will, however, happily jump back into it's private owner's lair with a sheepish grin and pointing full blame to the clumsy admins that kidnapped it.
So what does that mean for the breeding season?
Well, the Oske and Pani will remain genera that can be made with the Seasonal Voucher for this season.
We will be having our genus artist finish one of the ideas we had in store for April instead to replace the Lodon. We'll post that as soon as it is ready! And the genera that make up the pairing for that new replacement hybrid will be added to this season's Seasonal Voucher options.
So with that, please make sure to read the news post below regarding the new January additions and the new breeding season. And we apologize both to the users for this confusion/inconvenience and to the specific user who was subject to our kidnapping. <3 ;;

Actually, I do remember some trees being able to have things on the top, now that I think about it.... maybe it depends on the type of tree submitted? I dunno!

It seems that it's the really basic normal tree looking one and maybe the fir looking one that results in this glitch I think? It seems like maybe the topper has to be within the actual tree of the (normal) tree looking one to not glitch out? but don't quote me on this as i used a cactus and mine looks fine with a topper .. that also goes outside of the cactus lines.. so cactus trees seem to be glitch free? maybe palms are fine too? I'm not sure. Im also not sure about people who neglected to even used a tree and just used items (as in if any of the items were misplaced). In any case, i came to the conclusion on my own that it was really weird how there were these random big items/ornaments smack dab in the middle of the tree and often overlapping with other stuff (and thus tbh yeah ruining the look).. so after the first few downvotes (i'm SO sorry ; A; ) thinking it was a bad design (and as sometimes it just bothered my OCD), i realized it was probably a glitch and tried to pretend the whatever random too large thing in the middle was a topper and went from there... so maybe others used their imagination as well as deduction skills besides me and all is not lost? or at least maybe starting tomorrow people can do what I did.. or in a better scenario, the trees can be fixed by tomorrow....
also. non-related to glitches (i think) - geee, i wonder who that giant mass of titbird "tree" belongs too? *taps finger to mouth thoughtfully* pffft~ P:

♎ Astra ♎ (#16365), I too saw a lot of trees with things up-top, but not at the point where the topper would go, so maybe it's something about that point, in particular, as opposed to just the top, per se. *head spins from that mouthful*

The catcus is shorter than some of the other trees -- like mine -- so maybe that's it. Maybe it happens when it tries to populate something too close to the top of the picture, I dunno.
So now we know there are a lot of trees out there that are not as poorly designed as we thought, lol.
Tee Hi (#39846) Yeah, maybe it's about that point, not the top... or it's just the really tall trees that suffer? I dunno, lol.

I had three objects that got moved. The tree topper went to the middle of the tree and two snowflakes moved to more random places.

P.S. I totally expect y'all to do better (re: more creative/outlandish) with the Oske x Pani hybrid now... ;D Like a chibi-winged fat kitty with panda ears or something! Hah!

The left side of my entry was pretty messed up with things scattered primarily in the middle of the tree, but also in weird locations elsewhere as well. I don't remember if the top of my tree survived intact or not, but I did use the cactus, so hopefully that part worked out okay.
What most disappointed me about the glitch though is that I forgot to screencap my entry before dismantling it, so I was hoping to snag a shot from the entries instead. Live and learn. ^^;

DrunkConquistador (#64472) Lolz, it was a half-joke. To be honest, looking at the Ganchuan now, I think I was thinking of Oske x Ganchuan instead of Oske x Pani when I made my comment... I confuse those two very Bear-y genera sometimes 'cos they're both so very panda-pants, hah! Thanks for the reminder, though. ;D

Tee Hi (#39846) Thanks! It sure looked cute when I set it up as intended, lol. As for the items going to the middle of the screen when they shouldn't... Indeed, I don't recall offhand seeing any tree toppers actually on the tops of any trees... I guess that explains why a lot of these trees just look like a tree with an item in the middle (because they were submitted as just a tree with a tree topper, lol).
Oh well, if it's a glitch that's affecting everyone the same way, then it's still fair, but something I'd really like them to fix for the next time around. It seems like the pictures are populated every time they're set on your screen to display, so maybe there's a glitch populating certain areas of the top half of the picture...? I think everyone's bottom halves have been displaying as intended... (not that I would know what EVERYONE's tree is supposed to look like, heh).
