Lunaris' like Trick or Treating too!

Site Update

pumpkincandy.gif

A few quick Trick or Treat updates! By now some of you may have noticed that there is a Recent ToTs Page! Wanna get revenge on the people throwing poop at you? Well, now when they knock you'll have records of their poop-slinging activities!

There is also a little side bar on the left near your knocks that lists how much candy you have! Click that number to be taken to the Requests page and see what has been going on with your door! This nifty little Candy Counter will also wiggle when you get a new candy!

Why these changes? Because we have disabled the notifications! You're not the only ones who were annoyed by being buried under poop and candy! (Hopefully not mixed together!) If you really liked those notifications, though, you can find a button on the ToT page to re-enable them!

You may also notice the other button over there that says "Disable ToT." You can turn Trick or Treating off, however please be cautious about turning it off and then still knocking. It isn't very friendly to do that and some NPCs may take notice of this action!

You may also notice a few more NPCs running around! They thought the others were having so much fun that they wanted to join in on the festivities too!

Several of you have already figured out that "karma" has a pretty big influence on which NPCs you come across and how much candy they give/take. We have adjusted Karma values a little, and you now lose less karma from tricking, as we want everyone to enjoy this event and not feel they are forced to treat every single time!

One final note is that Aketch is getting a little bit full on all the candy he has stolen, so he might be making a few less appearances.

And on a personal note, I wanted to thank everyone for their well wishes in this time. It has been trying, to say the least, and I will not go into details about it in a news post, since I don't believe everyone wants to be bogged down with those, but I truly appreciate all the kind words said, thankyou <3

And now a dual-post note from Chibi (#124)!

I think the changes to the ToT system are great (the disable/enable button and such), but I had 175 candies when I came online and now I have 155 after treating everyone and knocking on all doors. *sigh* Can we have an event to get even with that Aketch fella, after halloween? :P

And again: 47 candy was removed from your candy bag....a 10% loss. This is actually all the candy I got today... So, basically, two visits from Aketch set me back to the amount of candies I had yesterday. After a full morning of ToTing. Please, please, change this! This is no fun any more.

such a 'good' karma? hum I lost 80+ candies in one go, after treating everyone =/

This is a trick or treat event. If it was all 100% treats the event would be easy and mundane. As it's been stated before, there *is* a way to deter Aketch, so if you're seeing him, there is some detail that's being overlooked. There is a chat thread in the forums that's working hard to figure out the puzzle, and at times users have been close to solving it (and some already have). I understand it's frustrating, but good puzzles are just that. Take a deep breath, continue putting your heads together to find what was missed, I know you all can do it. =)

The shine is DEFINITELY off this game. I started the day with 277 candy, and because there are beasts out there that steal 28, 36, 31 candy at a time (I was hit with all three in one go, I'm down to FAR less than what I started with. I don't think I'll be wasting my time with this anymore. Started off great, but no matter how much I treat, I lose candy...

I mean, I understand that it can't be ALL treats, as that would be dumb. But having NPC's take so MUCH at a time makes the event for people like me that can't be on my computer all day just not worth it...

As a new player, I can't afford 1k at a time(I already have been treating when I could, but I'd have to clean out all I'd earned so far to get anywhere in the event. Combined with the chance of losing so many treats at a time, it's not worth sinking what little I've earned into it) This event is too expensive for me, and Im only just now learning how to make any money here at all. -sigh- Even the Pumpkin patch requires a 1k put into it, but since there's a chance of getting more back I've been trying to do that here and there.

I do get it though, it can't be all give give give and I don't mean to whine. I just feel like there's a damper on the party for me and other newbies who would otherwise like to participate. Maybe this event could've been worked out better to include -everyone- rather than just those with the BP to participate.

This event is too expensive for new users, and some not so new (me I'm out of $);
it is a BP SINK only, it takes BP, and gon't give anything, you MAY get candy from another user, or NOT, it's a bet, and you can LOSE all you got in one click.

and seriouly, way to be ableist with all "think! "brain power!"
'its easy!", for some its very hard.
And it takes the fun, and gve only stress :(
