Good Afternoon! I hope everyone is enjoying the Lunar Meteor so I will try to keep this short, it is just touching up on a few things!
I am sure by now most of you have seen the Premium Grab Bag on the Welcome Back page.. Well, it is finally released! This item does exactly what its name suggests it will do! You can pull out a random previously-released Premium monthly item! We removed some of the retired objects, such as Gardening Items, though given time they may find their way back in there.
You can find the Grab Bag in the USD Shop under the Misc section.
Be warned this item will not be a permanent addition to the shop! In order to help keep the premium items of value, it will be stocked randomly, with or without a notification as to when it will be stocked! I will keep it in for a few days to celebrate its creation, then it will be removed and show up at a later time.
Speaking of the previous Premium Items, I know that the Long Island Iced Teo has been a source of irritation for a lot of users (most of staff included) so I am happy to announce that it has finally been fixed! We spent the past few days thoroughly testing it, and it appears to finally be working correctly :D
Which! Now that we have figured out the trick behind regenerating Alcohol, we are going to be testing The Zombie! We ask, until I announce it has been fixed, that you Do Not use yours! You will not be refunded should something go wrong.
My next point of interest involves breedings. Firstly, Cocobeef||Quetz (#8298) is going on hiatus. I have assigned the rest of the Artist Tickets they had, and I am going to be working on compiling a list of artists on the Grand Team so users can know exactly who they can ticket.
Regarding Painted Coins:
I am going to be monitoring the requests closely, so I would like to remind all users that when you submit a breeding with a Painted Coin, you are permitted to give a Theme and a Color Scheme. These themes are supposed to be only a few words, and users are not allowed to ask the artist to use something that is Copyright! You are permitted to ask for certain edits to be used, however the artist is not required to follow your request. Please keep that in mind!
If you have questions regarding the coins, you can check out the Painted Metal Breeding Coin and Painted Lesser Breeding Coin Knowledge Base articles for helpful information.
On the other spectrum, I will also be monitoring the finished babies to ensure they fit the theme, the colors, and that they are of an appropriate quality.
And, again, I am asking ALL of Slash's Breeding Artists to please PM me with the abbreviation of your team and your Paypal address within the subject line. Then, in the body, include a link to your PM with Slash.
Many of you have already contacted me, and I appreciate it! However, those of you who have not, please do so quickly! Your lists will not be processed and you will not be able to be paid until I hear from you!
Artist's Palette and Painted Bottle now work properly with Blind Dates, so feel free to add them as you would like!
We also have a Temporary Breeding Artist opening! This position pays GP, with SP and Custom Item incentives for how many you complete on time! We need someone willing to help clear out the HBC queue, as well as to finish the Drunk Breedings from last year! The Bonuses will work as follows (And be used for current HBC Artists as well):
20 points per list turned in on time
1 SP for every 2 lists turned in on time.
1 Point = 1gp
With your points you can can purchase any custom making item available
You can purchase breeding items ONLY if you are submitting predicts, and you must present the pair and completed predicts when requesting the breeding items
If you cannot submit ONLY predicts, then you cannot request that coin
We have also remade the Birthday Fixes Thread. You should have received a Ping if you had posted in the last thread, asking if you still wish to change your birthday. We apologize for the massive delay in these, however we do offer the Lunaris' for these missed birthdays if you had contacted a moderator within 2 weeks of your birthday. Ah! Look at this adorably happy fish! We will call him Daevo, and he will be our fishy.
Some of you may recognize him based on the prehistoric dunkleosteus, and if you are familiar with this fish you will also know they weren't nearly as happy or friendly-looking as ours! They were incredibly interesting, however, and I strongly recommend checking them out! :D
As per normal Prehistoric Portal tradition, once we have 75 Daevo designs in the edit repository, we will take another peek inside the portal and see if we can find something else. Please remember these designs must fall between 15% and 50%
And would you look at these sexy devils? It seems a few more NPC's have shown up! And these ones seem to have brought a few tools?? I wonder what type of construction their planning...

Just because I worry- was this item made in a way that won't devalue the premium items? I don't want to sound greedy, but I like some of the premium items being limited, it's more incentive for me to stay premium. I also like knowing if I don't want my items I can sell them for a decent profit. I worry that while nice, this item will reduce the nicely rare and valuable items to a handful of gp or bp.
Again, I get the thought behind it of making things more available, but idk I thought premium wasn't supposed to be super available. It's really all premium has going for it, as signatures don't really give you much and...I think those are the only two perks of paying for premium.
I hope this doesn't sound rude or angry! Just concerned and curious, but thankful for sure that this site keeps trying to do new cool things for it's users! (Just also wanting my money's worth and for things I pay for to stay nice and worth being bought...ya know?)

I can already tell what NPCs are going to be with what shop once the old ones get fully cycled out, it's going to be a little bittersweet for me but I love the new ones they just fit better

I see what you are saying and it is a valid point so i don't think you sound rude/angry, just concerned about staying afloat so to speak if anything, but personally I think when breaking down the maths, its easy enough to make it worth it going by the shop discounts alone! I don't think premium is that expensive either tbh... in comparison with all the other expensive shtuff on this site... and the discounts in the all the shops, especially the ones were you can double down on discounts, almost make premium pay for itself. Though maybe not if you only by month by month. buying a one year premium membership during the black friday sale (aka a 2 year premium ship since as far as I know during black friday you can get double the premium? idk if it was only for last year)... but if you do that... then you would definitely get all you paid for the premium membership back via just all the discounted shop stuff over a two year period.. I mean buying a pbc at 135 GP (rather than 150) alone pays for almost all of it... (i actually don't remember how much it is.. somehwere betwen 12 and 20 GP)...
so in the end.. the premium items are kinda just icing on the cake and if you can get a couple GP for each of the items even, if you sold 12 out of 24 you'd get back all you paid for the 2 year black friday double whammy... so,.. idk... I don't see the big deal about throwing some dogs a bone and letting newers users have older items more available to them.. it is a USD item.. and there will be like several years worth of things available no? sooo.... I dunno... I don't think the impact would be all that terrible. Are there even that many premium items that are worth 20 GP now even??
hopefully that made sense.... i'm sometimes not the best at making sense of my thoughts/feels. i just blab and hope for the best, aha xD;

star ticket is for a raffle at the end of this zodiac event ..honestly can't remember what it is called at the tip of my tongue.. i want to stay starbound something? (or it might be multiple raffle choices to choose from? it's said raffleS in the newspost.. idk i've never been around for this event). So yeah, be sure to hang onto your ticket for it! ^^

^ I get that. I don't really make many shop purchases though, I save my gp and sell things to earn more. So the premium items like cart of geodes and bottomless trunk were great because I could get them and then when they were valued but limited I could profit. Idk I probably sound like a scrooge but that's how I play the market here. I do get your points though, just I've seen so many items devalued over my million(jk I lost track) years on here and I get worried my "valuables" that I try to sell or plan to sell will lose all their value. I know that's also a part of the game and playing the market too though. Just interested in how this'll affect the economy, and interested in hearing the mod's perspective :)

Prof JaMEW (#2712) Of course not! We did not include any retired or broken items. The net we are unfortunately still working on, and we are attempting piece by piece to figure out what some of the older items did, as unfortunately any records of their uses seems to have vanished =/
