Now that it's clear they're not supposed to be the same thing, the new version is growing on me.
That line in the middle of it's stomach looks a bit weird, though... Is that supposed to be some form of exoskeletal plating or something? (If so, it needs a bit more shading). Other than that, though, I would be fine with either version now. :)
It is a shame about the artist, although I'm sure she's happy, or she wouldn't have taken the job. Still, she'll be missed.

The art is cute. But I don't really care for the new one. The tail is win, but that's about all I like. The new one looks really squat and short. A The front feet/paws/hooves/whathaveyou look awkward. I'll be rather bummed if it goes through, (which is seems it might according to current poll results.) The Insi is my favorite species. I like it as is. There's nothing wrong with it currently, why do we need to change it? =/

I think it looks better as the new one, but maybe leave it like someone else said; some with new lines and some with old. Maybe make a board where people could post which they want with new lines (or just with the old, as it seems few want the old) and go from there on which colourations get the new lines and which stay as-is. :/ Just a suggestion, lol.

Slash - I'm glad to hear that ^^ Sorry I went and nosed into that!
Skitty - me either. My dog can pull that pose off perfectly - especially if I've got his tug toy XD I agree - I like how the 'old' Insi seems playful but still regains a "I could bite your face off if I really wanted to" feeling. The 'new' one is just a little too aloof for my tastes. But again, as I've said, if the change happens I'm sure I'll get used to it ^^

I prefer the old one actually. I fell in love with Insi in the old lineart and looking at the new one actually puts me off them which makes me sad. I don't mind the new but I feel the old one is better so why change it?

Not digging the new lineart much. The Insi had a lot of problems (mainly: not looking like a bug) but this doesn't really fix them. The change from a pincer to a stinger with the tail is odd but I can deal with it, my main issue is how oddly lumpy the segments on it are. Scorpion tails don't look like that. I do like the new pose a bit more and I don't think the new lines are completely without good points. It just looks way too unpolished... the two head-antenna things are two different shapes, the legs are all different lengths and none of them seem to be standing on the same plane, the head is odd looking, and the tail is really lumpy. If it was given a bit more polish it would be cool, but alas.
Insi was one of my favorite pets before. :(
@Complaints that the old Insi was somehow bending the laws of time and space with its pose: I'm not seeing it?
