Adventures in Easter

Site Update

Hello again!
We have processed the current Easter Pet Submissions and selected several to join us in adventure!

You can find these and more hiding around in different adventure zones, they will remain there until the closing of the Easter Event (we'll announce the date once the Seasonal Shop is Opening)
Payment will be sent out at the end of the event!

Those that have Accepted written in their posts will be used later! We have also decided that this isn't nearly enough Holiday pets and re-opened the Easter Pet Submissions Thread, just like the Item and HA submissions it will remain open until April 5th at 11:59pm.

We are still wrangling a few glitches with the floating eggs, so if you discover something new please come over to the Glitches thread! As a note, the eggs do spawn a little slow, they can take a couple seconds before they actually appear on your page, so click a little slower if your a speed demon <3

Taena (#66637) The majority of the site actually enjoys the floating currency as an alternative to adventuring, and while we are in the middle of re-working adventure we would prefer not to add more stress to it. So we will be using this type of currency again, of course not for *every* event, but it will reappear later on. As far as mobile users, Aywas does not have the resources to be coded for Mobile use and accessing through such devices is done at your own risk, but regarding this event I have not had a single issue with the eggs from my phone, and I spent several hours testing it from my phone yesterday.

ChaosAzeroth (#43055) Yes! I actually noticed while I was scrolled down on the main news page the egg appeared at the top and then jumped down to where I was, so I began scrolling and the egg followed me. So that was pretty awesome xD

Espeon (#25910) Future uses will definitely have variable point prizes <3 We just had to keep things low key this time around.

Taena (#66637) I am sorry but I am unsure where you took that from what I said? I had stated we will use these type of currency collections in the future because the majority of the users enjoy them. The only ones who potentially end up "suffering" would be mobile users, and Aywas has always had a stance that they are not designed for mobile devices, it is impractical to expect us to be, when we always say that we are not. And even when we're not, most features still end up working on mobile. This particular event is barely glitchy and very user friendly, and has received quite a bit of positive feedback. I am sorry that you are not enjoying the event, but we do attempt to make as many users happy as we can. As far as mobile devices go, while we are not coded specifically for them, as I mentioned I personally tested Chrome on Android and it worked perfectly, and a friend of mine tested Safari on her iPhone and it worked perfectly, so while things may differ device to device, the odds are that it is working fairly well for most users.

I don't use mobile myself and I am having a lot of frustration with the currency showing up on the in between pages when putting eggs in the field or posting in the forums. Also with lag on my end from more than one person using the computer in the house there's a chance that the 5-6 seconds you say the egg takes to show up can be 1-2 min for the graphic to load.. meaning I'm way past that. Most of my friends who I've talked to today, and other people posting on the news posts have stated that they see this as a negative thing, so I don't see how you are getting "most users like it" when I've seen most people saying the opposite.

Putting in say an Easter Garden like the Halloween one could have been a better solution... it's some thing already coded into the game that wouldn't effect adventure and wouldn't have these silly glitchy pop-ups.

I'm sure there are many other ways you guys could do a new event currency with out effecting adventure that does not involve floating currency which is hard for many users to collect.

If you are having that many issues, I'd suggest you consider posting that in the glitch forms, because even when I lag, I don't have near that long a wait for things.

Also consider, that programmers code for the bare-use in browsers, there are a million and more add-ons and they can't program for all of them to get around things like ad blockers, and other things you may have installed. I suggest if you want to lower the change the pop ups, or images don't appear or delay so long that you go and white list aywas.com in any you might have.
You also might want to check and virus scanners and spybot scanners you might have running to make sure they ain't eating a large part of your processing things.
If you don't have them, I suggest Ad-aware, and Spybot Search and Destroy, because you probably have a lot of malware, which would also slow your computer down, and cause the delays you are speaking about.

All in all it is something I would strongly suggest you address in glitches will providing the requested information (like what browser, what add ons, and so on you have) so that it can be properly diagnosed and fixed

I don't think Staff is trying to cause the hard time you think they are for you, but they can't fix what they do not have the proper tools to fix. I know by how active the glitch thread is, that they seem to be working on every and any glitch posted, so that this system doesn't HAVE issues like you are taking about every time it's used.

Taena (#66637) I have been monitoring the news posts, the forums and even browsing on tumblr, and the majority of posts that I have seen support the Floating Currency. I am sorry that you don't like it, but it isn't being changed. The users I have spoken to onsite and offsite have all also agreed that they really enjoy this versus rampaging through adventure.

Putting in an Easter Garden would unfortunately, not have been better or easier, aside from needing artwork, it is not "already coded in", the halloween garden is something completely integrated to the Halloween system, as much as I wish, we can’t just copy paste that bit of coding without possibly missing something and breaking something fundamental.

I am sure there is other ways as well, however as mentioned before, the Easter event had several issues before it even happened so we have tried to scramble something together. The floating Easter Currency was the best option given the situations. The beginning part of Easter was conjured up in under 2 days by the staff team just to ensure that there *was* an event, and this event has still been larger than most of our normal Easter events/. We will be having the Seasonal Shop being cheap enough so most everyone should be able to afford almost everything, so that there is very little stress to the eggs and so that there is enough extra points for users to sell stuff as well.

If you have other suggestions for how to do currency's, you are welcome to make a suggestion post, we are always looking for new and unique ways to do events. (instead of the normal banging your head in adventure, or even the repetitive garden where a lot of people miss their timers) Yes it is a little glitchy, all new things are, and I have been working actively with the users who report their glitches and relaying the information to our coder immediately.

This isn't something that we/I will continue to debate. I am truly sorry that you don’t enjoy the floating currency, and I hope that at least some other parts of the event appeal to you.
