Raw R-Update

Site Update

magic_rawgoldcrystal.png
This is just a quick announcement to inform everyone that we have made some amendments to the post from this morning!

Since the Horuset and Mephis have been with us for so long, and we are quite the ways past where they were supposed to be retired, we've decided to allow you to submit your customs for them until Saturday, March 5th at 11:59pm
Please be aware that in the future you will only have a 24 hour warning for the raws, as we are getting back on schedule

We also did have a typo, and the Ramrin is actually available to create until May 1st, at 11:59pm Giving us two months to enjoy the happy, fluffy critter.

We also have fixed our newcomers not showing up under their appropriate items when you go to create them! Shantu's should now be available under all Ay Crystals, Ramrin available in Raw Crystals, and Alaroo for the tokens.

Sorry about the confusion!

While we are here, how about a few coding updates?

The high scores that didn't reset should all be fixed now, and we're going to be monitoring them to ensure they continue resetting on their own next months!

Drinking Game breedings from February onwards will be automatically paired and submitted as eggnog breedings instead of manually being handled behind the scenes. We’re still working on the backlog from before February and we’re catching up fast.

Taena (LLs) (#66637) The closing date for the Raw genera are announced when they are released, as such Staff don't feel that it is necessary to have an extensive warning time as users are already made aware of when they are being removed. It is as a courtesy we have previously given 24 hours warning on Raws, though we don't do it for other time-limited items, and it is only due to the issue where these Raws are long overdue removal that we are extending the time. Doing a week reminder will not remove any pressure, as it will not change the date that they are removed.

Kaiyo (#489) It would remove a lot of pressure as well as help new players who may not have been around for other raw crystals coming out and might not know that there is a time limit as most other custom makers don't. Also a lot of people are forgetful and giving them a week's notice might be more helpful than letting them know the day before that they are out of luck. I am not on staff, so I don't know how things work, so forgive me if I am wrong, but I don't think it would take a lot of time to just put a quick "just a reminder raw crystal pets will be changing in 1 week" notice up beforehand. And with the fact that this particular set of raw pets was around so long, what happens going forward if there is another time when the pets are not changed out as often as they are supposed to... do we have this issue of 24 hour notice after six months again? That's why I suggest going forward that people are given a longer time as a reminder than just 2 days.

Does this mean that new drinking game pairings will be visible on the standing stones & we can see who our pet partnered with?

Taena (LLs) (#66637) - While we appreciate your suggestion, staff has decided to keep the 24 hour notification for future raws.

MourningStar (#56068) - Hypothetically, yes. (I say this because its not something I can personally test and this is the first time we tried this.) xD

No offense but that's what antiquity staves are for. As an artist, if people commission you for something that you know has a time limit you are to do it asap. If something comes up you refund the commission. If you as the individual want to keep the Commission juts get an antiquity stave. If you commissioned someone and been waiting over a month you can get staff involved as long as there was a transaction recorded (i believe) since artists have 1 month to complete anything they have been commissioned

We should just have Horusets be open forever because they are the coolest. >>

EDIT: Also, is there anywhere you can go to see which raw genuses are current and which are retired? Because I honestly thought horusets were already retired. And are we going to have another raw day or was that a once-in-a-lifetime thing?

right? pardon the snark (nah, actually i'm not sorry) But why have a quick notice a week in advance, when you can pull the rug out from under people's feet and slop up that sweet sweet antiquity staff money?

I don't think a week is unreasonable, and i'd love like. actual reasons other than "we dun wanna and that's how it's always been done". are there logistical issues or something? just because it's tradition doesn't mean it's the best option.

It's not that the site runs on clockwork, take... well, the past year or so. If raws were released exactly on time, every time, it'd be one thing. But they aren't so a short notice and such a varying schedule feels like... kind of a blatant cash grab, to be honest. It's also not even like antiquity staves are easy to get either.

Arccy & Ashuu (#675) so if an artist gets Ill or has a computer problem the person paying for the commission has to pay four times the cost to submit the custom? How is that fair? The staves are not sold in the regular shops (unless I'm missing where they are located) and in the user shops they are usually priced 20 gp and up for a metal one.
