PMBC alert!

Site Update

The PMBC queue is scheduled to run out of breedings in approximately a week and a half. It's finally gotten over the Mayday submissions! Let's make sure those artists don't run out of assignments to do, shall we?

Until 11/2, 11:59 PM, every purchase of $25 will come with a free PMBC. For GP, this is instant (note that $25 = 26 GP). For USD items, send me a message with the total of your purchase to redeem your PMBC(s).

Keep the artists busy!

Want a little preview of what we've been doing? Our programmer is busy recoding the breeding section of Aywas so that add-ons are locked to their compatible coins, meaning you'll never attach the wrong add-on again!

The option would be moving around other GP-paid artists but there's still an issue Arem mentioned, so...

I think a lot of people forget that Teams are picked for their different skill sets & different pays. It is not the sites choice to move the unwilling artists, it is the artist's choice to apply for the position. So forcing them into a position they did not apply for is very unfair.

wait. not trying to start anything. but.. i can't hold this in. i tried. how does LBC + MBC require a difference skillset than PMBC/PLBC though... i mean.. it involves another way of doing things. you can't change markings and stuff and the colour palettes have to come from the parents.. But it.. it isn't super hard to do that? It is even easier to do regular coins probably. When it comes to skills, I'd gather painted coins might require more skills in general.. but idk about "different" being the right word... As painted coins require more creativity and the ability to be able to do a variety of prompts to an acceptable standard... I'd think when it comes to non painted coins.. it is almost like practically painted over the already done colour jobs... so.. I can see it being more of a discomfort thing on the reason of one likes to do something more unique. Though painted vials are kinda a thing now.. with the right add-ons there is like no difference between a painted coin versus regular mbc/lbc aside from genus restrictions for mbcs no?? or i think even just wanting to do only USD paid jobs is a good enough excuse. there should be NO forcing of artist's to do what they /don't/ want to do... I'd be like lol no i quit if I was told to go and do something I did volunteer for or sign up for .. or agreed to (as I don't think asking an artist IF they would be willing to help would hurt... >_>). Oh, and I'm not sure what skill set RBCs need? They are basically taking about two images.. a psd isn't even needed for one or even either. and paste them together in some creative manner. or not creative way as I see pinwheel ones a lot. but idk. maybe people are specificically requesting those.. I mean.. if one were to mention BCs + EBCs + PBCs + HBCs + rare breeding items (especially with edit potions/grand edit poitons!), I'd be like oh yeah, totally more skills are needed and especially those involving doing actually handmade unique edits (or quasi-unique as they are based on parent edits at times I guess).. but when it comes to rbs/mbc/lbc versus painted coins.. I basically only see usd versus gp or just a lack of interest in doing certain things like say not wanting to do lbcs/combine edits and stuff... the coins are all different.. but the skillset needed for these aren't hugely complicated. At least for those with the right equipment. My photoshop isn't up to date and eats psd layers some times... so that would be an issue... and if a user has only gimp.. that could be an issue... And I openly admit when I tried to do a derp predict I got confused and am not sure what exactly I can do. versus what I can't do. and how people get certain effects... and it was frustrating and I quit.. I do think I like skill sets for coins.. but by that I mean -all- coins because I lack some basic photoshop knowledge. I'm still teaching myself everything. and some wordage used is like Egyptian to me lol. But yeah 'cmon...let's be real.. i don't think not having the right skillset is the reason (for not - handmade- edit requiring coins ;p though to to reinforce what I implied and would stick to my guns about, I don't think artists should be reassigned to different coins without being asked to and agreeing to on their own free will (and thus with absolutely no pressure or anything like that). Hey, Maybe people would want the GP? IDK if black friday has GP shop item sales or anything like that, for example? Otherwise, I think artists are hired based on what they sign up for. And therefore to reassign someone to a position they did not volunteer themselves to be hired for.. would be .. just not cool to put it simply. I'd support any artist that would protest such an action. u.u

dammit. it -seemed- a lot shorter when I was writing it. But i came and left in the middle and I got I lost track. fflak;dkalk;k. I had a legit point (I think). I swear D: (and I meant nothing bad or harmful. the end of the line was more agreement than disagreement. I just couldn't retain my thoughts after thinking about stuff said. I think too much. and into too much detail / scenarios. at really odd times when one is prone to act (say) stuff impulsively.. it is problem. lmao..

Tequila Mockingbird (#64472) That's a very long post, so I'm just going to answer the question I read at the beginning.

LBC and MBC artists do not require the skills to be able to redraw markings. That's the key difference between them and the painted coins, and why you wouldn't be able to just throw an MBC artist at the painted queue. Painted artists are also used to working with PSDs thanks to that requirement, while many MBC/LBC breedings have no PSDs, so that would likely throw off painted coin artists who haven't dealt with PNG breedings before.

Remember, MBC and LBC only deal with changing colours and otherwise swapping what's already there. Painted requires the ability to make markings from scratch. Hope that helps you understand!
