Still Hiring Offspring Artist

Pets

Because apparently I don't put any time or effort into making the offspring and they're such low quality i'm still looking for people to be offspring artists since the last news post. This has nothing to do with hybrids and you won't ever have to do them. If interested please send an e-mail to [email protected] for an application. The position pays 2gp per pairing.

Hmmm Id apply, but I dont do my shading or lines the same at all so theyd probably take me way too long to do.. And even still probably come out not looking good.
Best of luck finding amazing artists!

BJ - I LOVE my Manticore babies. :)
I think they are beautiful and wonderful.

Yeah, I definitely see that a lot of the pups are kind of halfassed, no offense. If there's more than one pup, the other is usually just darkened or lightened up to make it different, and /tons/ of people keep getting, like, one eye drawn differently than the other with line edits, or, in my case, an eye-shine on the pet's /forehead/. I had to give that pup away because nobody was even interested in paying for it. To tell the truth, I think you're /much/ too picky when it comes to choosing coloration artists. I've seen people apply who were, I'm sorry, so good that I liked their work better than even yours-- but they were rejected for being "not up to site quality". -c-

Honestly, I thought some of the entries were /past/ site-quality, but nobody can seem to get the job. Why not hire half a dozen? Or a dozen? Whoever happens to be the best? It'd definitely help not take /months/ on breedings, at the very least. Also, your application tends to choose some of the worst possible pairings for examples, so you might see more potential if you let people pick their own, or at least offered three to five different options /per/ breeding and so on. Really, Aqua Flame Insi x Circuit Melo? That's going to look disgusting no matter /how/ the applicant draws it. .__. -c-

And for the record, BJ, you honestly are an amazing artist, and I've seen tons of good breedings by you, but I think the main problem is that you just seem OCD with doing it all yourself, and you're really much too picky when it comes to accepting applications which are, not poor quality at all, but not what /you/ personally like, or not as good as you think /you/ could do. At least give people a chance. I don't even know of /any/ other babby-artists aside from you, to tell the truth. The whole /breeding/ directory looks like it's made up entirely of your work, so I can see why it takes so long and it's so much effort to get pups out. I've seen tons of amazing babbies drawn as predictions on the Breeding Chat forum, so it's far from impossible to find good artists to apply. x3

All I have to say is. D'you know what Slash originally intended babies to look like? One darkened. One lightened. So it's improved immensely since then... and I think Beej deserves more credit than she gets.

... *bounces impatiently waiting for appy* I bet BJ is immensely busy but I so wanna try, need the app! I do so hope she gots meh email... And yes, I think BJ needs more credit too, but there are so... rushed/no effort put into them babbies.. and those may be her helpers work, for all I know.. There for a while I was upset with my reben x kitsune breeding, wanted one with multi-tails, but.. I got over it. Both babbies seem... like whoever did them was bored and didn't much care, but I do so love them now. xD

I sent in an app in as well. Had to send two emails because I forgot to put in my Aywas name in the first one. DX

I'm sorry, but this isn't wajas or khimeros or something. Breedings here are /not/ cheap, and sadly, tons of people are nowhere near satisfied with a breeding that cost them around 25GP. That's a lot to pay for pups that have line edit errors all over, or two exact clones except for one's had the brightness/contrast messed with a bit to make it lighter or darker. If pups are /supposed/ to be one-lighter-one-darker, then the coins should cost 5-10 GP or so at most. -c-

Since they're so 'advanced' now (even despite transparent vampire fangs; the normal melo eye showing under a line-edited eye and so on) perhaps make a /new/ breeding coin:: 5-10gp to breed pets with few to no line edits, and the full 20-30 for those with more extreme edits. I think that would be much more fair, and pups wouldn't cost so much when all you get out of a breeding is about a layer-over-other-parent, 50%-opacity and erase-over-here-and-there. I think that would just make more sense, myself. Clearly not all pups come out anywhere nearly as good as some of the other, much more impressive ones, and I don't think the chosen pairing is always at fault.
