The PWA Update is FINALLY DONE!

Site Update

If you remember back when we hired our new April programmer, we had first embarked on the task of updating the deprecating Amazon payment scripts with our main programmer. Essentially, Amazon decided to completely get rid of their old payment system and move to a new one, which is fairly normal for payment processors (you saw it happen with Google Wallet, for instance).

Unfortunately it seemed like we hit EVERY SINGLE snag along the way. Feedback from our main programmer indicated that the new Amazon payment system was very poorly documented, confusing to implement, and their support team wasn't exactly much help with solving problems.

It has seriously taken some three months to get to this point... but... we have FINALLY gotten this finished!

Apologies, as you may have noticed that the original Amazon method of purchasing (the previous one) died a couple of days ago. They actually canceled it on June 1 but let us process payments a bit longer because we were having so much trouble getting the new one implemented. But now it works with the new system, "Pay With Amazon."

To celebrate finally getting over this ridiculously difficult hurdle, let's see what we have!

Blue Species Crystal
$25
This item will allow you to upload a 50% edited SCC pet (from any species that has been founded). Please put a link to the Silver Database Entry for the species when you submit a pet with this item within the comments. Obviously, you need to either own the species, or have bought a PSD use.

The staff are in the process of discussing raising the breeding limit for SCCs up to 50% difference. We will let you know what our decision is when we come to a consensus. If you would like to share your feedback about raising the limit, please do so in the comments.

For every $5 you spend until the 26th at 11:59 PM, you will get a Mystery Box Ticket. The Mystery Box isn't funding anything new, but it feels great celebrating for getting over a three month programming hurdle. It'll be very useful for paying all of these recent artist raises, though!

These are automatic for GP purchases, but if you buy USD Items, pm me with the total amount spent and what you got, and I'll send you the tickets.

Now that the Amazon hurdle is out of the way, these little guys can finally get some programming time! We're hoping to have them ready soon. It's been hard trying to get to them, but at least we don't have that huge payment coding issue in the way anymore.

They actually have a small "quest" feature associated with them, and we hope that you find it enjoyable. It will make creating custom Sevryns a little more interesting than the average pet species.

This odd looking creature will be getting its own feature soon, too...

I support raising the silver breeding percentage limit, would make for more possibilities. Looking forward to the new egg feature too!

Please raise the breeding percentage BUT APPLY IT TO ALL SPECIES? ;w;

I've been an LBC artist for nearly three years and in that time I can probably count on ONE HAND the number of SCCs I've had that were inherently difficult to work with, compared to running into grossly mismatched Gold pets, Golds bred to near or actual Metals with little way to mix them, and pets with so little of the site base left that they were Silver each more often. As in each one of those things individually has happened more than having any issue with Silvers, even when Upgrades were needed on those Silvers. (I realize I might just be lucky, but after this long that's some really persistent luck.. :P)

Really, super contrasted shading styles can be a lot harder to work with than edits a lot of times, but it's harder to control that. :x

At any rate! I think having a Breeding Upgrade to allow such breedings while also making them a little rarer, harder-to-get and therefore more desirable when people can, etc, would be pretty cool. Adding a tip to the Upgrade, even if it were only $1, similar to how Painted Golds offer tips, would also be really nice, but honestly just knowing that extremely difficult pairs would be the exception would be wonderful all on its own.

I enjoy doing them from time to time, but it's always felt horribly unfair that Melos can be bred rampantly, lying-down edit with a head-turn to sitting-pose with a paw raise; or sitting pose with both hair and tail that don't work on a standing post to, you guessed it, a standing pose... While Silvers need an expensive upgrade if they have a nice simple easy-to-move folder of armor that's slightly too big.

So I've long been in favor of increasing the limit for silvers while imposing any kind of limit for site genera.

If limiting the latter is out of the question, though, I still support more freedom for silvers just to make it slightly less unfair, at least.

Yes I'm deff for 50% limits on Silvers. :D It will make silvers MUCH more popular. ^^ Would it be allowed to add reshade when you put 50% edits on?

Goodbye $100, hello mystery box. Not complaining of course, I got a couple of deals, like a GCC Design pack and PLBC pack :D

I just have a quick question. I bought something from the USD shop yesterday and I am waiting for my mystery ticket. If I don't get it by the time it ends will I still be allowed to use my mystery ticket?

Katje (#59643) Last time the mystery box tickets were released I didn't use mine until days (weeks?) after the sale - I think the box itself might be permanently open, with the tickets only being sold occasionally =)
