Ah nevermind. Wyrgecko was nice enough to explain to me that you take the dark spirit to the quicksand area and attempt to catch the malevolence oakl from there. I, unfortunately, failed.

So, these little suckers just pop up like the magical boxes. The appearance rate seems quite a bit higher than the magical boxes, however, you use them by going to the quicksand area and the CATCH RATE for them is seemingly SUPER SMALL. You apparently don't even get to fight it and you can't use any items, you just get to try to catch it andif not, you have to find another one to try again...

I figure I can use it on an Oakl for the above result. And I know that there are Melos with the thingies. Does it work on other species? o.o
