SINK COMPLETE!

Site Update

Congratulations! You did it!

1,770,000,000 BP Sunk in 6 HOURS!

You unlocked all the BP Sink tiers and now have access to all the bases available for the Mineral Crystal! The new bonus SCC bases will be added to the Knowledge Base when the article is updated sometime tomorrow.

In the meantime, enjoy the bases that were unlocked and have fun coloring them! And hopefully this event has helped drain a lot of the BP out of the economy and stabilized some of the prices.

The Mineral Crystal has been put into the BP Shop for a slightly higher price. You may buy this item until April 1, in which it will be removed. The custom maker can be used indefinitely.

My issue is that this was a BP sink event.. Since they closed it, I'm not really interested in buying the item anymore. I've also seen others say the same. I've also seen some people say they are going to buy less now that they have to pay more. So why wasn't another unreachable goal set and the event left for a full 24 hours? That way everyone has a chance to get the item at the same price and the site will sink even more BP.. That is the goal.. to reduce the amount of bp in the system. Placing the item in the bp shop still sends the bp to the same place.. Just now they are selling less of them at a higher price which in turn still results in less bp being spent.

Or some people will still buy them for the increased bp making up the difference of the the few people buying because of a 240k increase. We cant tell.

I mean I COMPLETELY agree a full day event would have been better and fair but hind sight is 20/20. They thought the 1.7 billion would take that day if not longer. It was an honest mistake made by humans. They still tried and made an incredibly successful event that pulled a lot of money out of circulation in that way they succeeded.

so first off, please stop complaining about the amount of time. this was the first time the site tried a bp sink that gave you an item garenteed, which i'm fond of. instead of just a lottery for something insanely nice. The users behaved far more excitedly because they knew they would get something witih every 3mil, and we all filled up the sink much faster than was expected. Next time a bp sink like this is done, i'm sure they'll use this as a benchmark for how long they want the event to last.

secondly, for all the people wanting the shop price to be 3mil bp. understand that that needs to be the lowest possible price it can sell for.
3,000,000 bp / .9 (90%) = 3333333.3(repeating) (barter 10% off)
3,333,334 bp / .9 (90%) = 3703704.4(repeating) (premium discount)
so the price your crying out for isn't 3mil bp, its 3,703,705bp. that's a strange number to see in the bp shop, but its possible to set.

again though, this was a bp sink event. its supposed to make the bp in the game dry up. not sure how successful it will be as people will be adventuring (read, making money enter the game) to get them. But at least the 6 hours the event was running there wasn't time to get that much bp into one players account.

Wow, I woke up and this event had already started and finished! What an amazing amount of BP!

Alright, I have a lot of words to say here, so please bear with me.

First off, this was, in fact, a BP Sink event. Which means that if a BILLION BP was spent in six hours, and only by the fraction of the userbase that was online, then there is a serious problem, and it NEEDS to last longer, and with a larger goal. This event didn't at all accomplish what it was meant to, as the economy will remain the same. All it did was anger a whole lot of people. It's especially unfair that to the people in different timezones, or for the people who work of had school because that is significantly more important than a pet site. And to the people who said 'Oh, well, on games I play, I miss out on stuff because of timezones.' No. Just no. I have yet to hear of this happening, because of the fact that game developers don't want to discourage their players by saying 'You live somewhere else then these people do, so you don't get anything.' Events usually last more than 24 hours, so that all players have a fair shot. What happened with this even was 'We're going to try and reach this goal, and you can have this shiny thing for it. But hey, look, we've reached the goal now, so too bad for all of you, we don't care anymore.' I feel bad for those who put in a small portion to put in more later as well, because they probably did that because they didn't have much BP to begin with, and now they just lost it. It's even worse because there was no notice whatsoever as to when the event would end. Some people were waiting until all the bases were unlocked to see if there was anything they even wanted, but many didn't get the chance to get it at the cheaper price simply because the event suddenly stopped as soon as the goal was reached. I really feel like this was a very poorly executed event, and that everyone going on about how there's no reason to complain need to stop defending the site, because there's many people who will defend it every time something was poorly done as though there can't be any mistakes, because Aywas is perfect.

I know this was really long and rambly, but this event just made me really mad for various reasons. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Aywas at all, but this even just really did make me rather upset.

I get why people are upset, but really come on it's a game.

The sink isn't over merely the event page with a counter on it is. The item is still in the BP shop thus still sinking BP into oblivious taking it out of circulation.

No ones denying its sad for the people in different time zones Its just as stated before they didn't think it would end so fast. if people were saying 'too bad for people not in the sites timezone' then they wouldn't put the item in the BP shop TILL THE FIRST. that's a month. long enough for someone who never would have had the 3 mill in a 1 day event to get the bp needed. This is allowing -MORE- people to get the mineral crystal.

I'm not invested in all this but I've never seen a kickstarter/money sink event on a site just close when it reached its goal before. I mean, if people want to keep donating without there being anything else to unlock, just to sink more and see the number climb, I don't see why not.

I feel the same as others here. I'm sorry for people who weren't able to contribute for one reason or another be it money issues or the simple fact of time zones, but I'm just eager to see the last two bases and what else they might do. ^_^;
