The Hidden Dragon's Canyon

Site Update

There be dragons! needchocolatenow (#41056) let them out!
And where there are dragons, there is a very shiny trail of treasure...

A wonderful world of wings and fire awaits you in Dragon's Canyon, a beautiful realm dappled with jewels--and, of course, DRAGONS!

Before you run off to the Canyon, I have a few important nuggets of wisdom to bestow upon you.

Currency
The currency in this realm is gems; they come in emerald, sapphire, ruby, and magicked (white) varieties, and each has a different point value.
Emerald = 1 point. Sapphire = 5 points. Ruby = 10 points. Magicked = 20 points.

In a new and wondrous twist of events, there is no seasonal shop--but your gems will still come in handy.

Quests
Questing in Dragon's Canyon is quite special. For every 3 quests you complete, you will have the opportunity to appease a rather grumpy dragon in an attempt to steal a coveted egg from him. How will you snatch an egg out from under his gaze? By tossing gems at him, of course!

So, after you finish your first three quests, you will be invited to the Dragon's Lair. Then, you must throw a certain number of gems at him to be rewarded with eggs. I'll give you a hint: the first time, he wants 60 gem points. You don't have to give him 60 all at once; if you give him 10 and then come back with 50 more, that will work as well. He will then reward you with colorful eggs.

After you complete 3 more quests, you will be able to throw more gems at the dragon for more eggs. This time, he'll want 120. Again, after another 3 quests, you can snag another egg, but it will cost you 240. If you complete 3 more quests, you will have another egg opportunity, but it will cost you 480.

Free Eggs
What the Grumpy Dragon Tavi doesn't want you to know is that he has a soft side.
Once an hour, you are able to collect a free egg from the nest!

Eggsurprises!
You might be wondering what you're going to do with a hoard of eggs that would rival any dragon's nest.
Since there is no seasonal shop for this event, you probably guessed that the eggs have more value than just looking pretty--and they do! Each egg is openable, and will yield a random prize. I won't tell you exactly what you can find in each egg, but the prizes range from food, clothes and collectables to fauna and some even cooler eggs. *wink*

P.S., not all of the prize items are activated yet. They have a note in their description that states this, but their magic will be revealed soon! Keep an eye out. :3

But Eri! If I can just get free eggs, why should I bother getting gems and questing?
Because we're going to have a high score table, and some pretty cool prizes for those of you that prove you are a top quester. More on that to come!

Adventure Items
You'll find a few helpful items strewn about the canyon, but I wanted to bring special attention to one in particular: Dragon Dung. Use this on another user to throw a random amount of gems at them to assist them with their questing endeavors!

What else will you encounter on your journey?
Why, the stars of the show of course--the Dragons!

Note: We have more pets to add, so hang tight and keep an eye out for an announcement! (Descriptions are also still being added to some of the colorations.)

Enjoy the canyon!
(And let us know if anything is behaving wonky; this is a new feature for us, so we'll be ready to make any necessary tweaks. Thanks. :3)

Eri & Dew (#17) - is the max quest level supposed to be in effect? or should we be able to pass lv 15 for questing in the Dragon's Canyon

I reached 15 quests and now I cannot do any more. Was this intended? If so, there probably should have been some sort of warning.

I'm also curious about the use of "aloof" in the dragon's lair: "Maybe it's best to come back when the dragon is aloof."

Do you mean...afoot? Alert? About? Aloof just makes no sense in this context.

Coriander (#45387) It means when the dragon isn't paying attention. ;) You don't exactly wanna steal from a dragon right in front of it.

Ah, I see. Throw your gems and then run as it wakes up confused. ;)

For what it's worth, the next time I ran across a merchant with a similar question, it worked fine.
