"You can now call me a Kityip!"
The hybrid previously known as a Bunyip has been renamed to Kityip, per a community suggestion, since the original unintentionally shared a name with a mythical creature from Aboriginal/Australian mythology. Our apologies for any confusion or upset this might have caused, as the name was purely meant to be a bunny/fox combo, and was not intended as a cultural slight, and was an oversight on our part.
Thank you for the feedback as always! We hope everyone can enjoy this new hybrid. :3

Still, so they do not look alike, but we loved the name. It's like saying a child named Lucifer is going to look like Satan. ;C

MxM 1x1 anyone? (#35112) the kodama has a forest on it's back. it's a very understandable name. The kityip is not related to the Bunyip in the slightest.

Shouldn't this have been a site-wide vote, not a forum vote, where some users. (Like us) to not stalk.

"Rabbits are small mammals in the family Leporidae of the order Lagomorpha, found in several parts of the world. There are eight different genera in the family classified as rabbits, including the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus), cottontail rabbits (genus Sylvilagus; 13 species), and the Amami rabbit (Pentalagus furnessi, an endangered species on Amami shima, Japan). There are many other species of rabbit, and these, along with pikas and hares, make up the order Lagomorpha. The male is called a buck and the female is a doe; a young rabbit is a kitten or kit." At least that would've been fair, & not blind sided a bunch of users.

However Kit is highly associated with baby foxes, where as bunny is what most people refer to as a baby bunny even if it isn't scientifically correct

Valice & Fenris (#20488) No, we don't put up everything for polls. Staff names pets, and we decided it was appropriate to change this one because it was a mistake on our part that we were made aware of. Kityip follows our original format and uses half of the original name, and was therefore selected. - Eri

Yeah I'm definitely not very happy about this name change. There should have been a vote, rather than just going with a few complaints. Since when do a handful of users counts as the majority? The name was part of why I loved the new hybrid.

Thank you so much, guys!

Also, kit is also the name of a baby fox, so it's a fox fox? Maybe bunkit would be more suitable.
