October, Awaken!

From moon to moon, the magic of October is slowly infiltrating the world of Ay!
It seems that a strange, dark path has opened... and it leads to the Spooky Forest!

"And where do you think that magic comes from?" Minerva interrupted, adjusting one of her gloves. "My powers have indeed awoken the forest and its unusual inhabitants. Remember, though this area is under my watch, the creatures there abide by very few rules, so stay on your toes."

She smiled widely, the stitches on the sides of her mouth curling up slowly. "I'm rather proud of this batch; my henchmen will take you to them." Without further clarification, she quickly motioned to what appeared to be a group of Dark Magic Griffins perching in the shadows, who began taking to the skies. As the flurry of feathers dissipated, Minerva was nowhere to be found, but would surely be returning.

You will find 30 pets--including the 6 above--in your Spooky Forest travels, but rest assured that we will be adding many, many more!

Our favorite pumpkins are baaaaaack!
Both pumpkins can be found in the Spooky Forest, but you know we can't make them too terribly easy to amass.

If this is your first October on Aywas, you're probably wondering why these two pumpkins are our favorites, and why anyone would want a large hoard of them, right? Let me explain:
The above items (Melo Pumpkin and Halloween Pumpkin) will be used as exchange currency in our Seasonal Shop that will open at the end of the month.

When the shop doors open, you will find some items priced in Melo Pumpkins, but most will be priced in Halloween Pumpkins. However, we do offer an exchange option so that you can trade in your MPs for HPs (example: 5 Melo Pumpkins = 1 Halloween Pumpkin). The official trade-in rate has not yet been decided.

You will also encounter 10 collectable items during your stay in the forest, including the 4 above.
Hold onto these, for they are more than holiday souvenirs. Not only will we be opening up a special Museum Collection for them when our curator is ready, but they will also come in handy later in the month as the magic intensifies!

Beyond the Spooky Forest lies perhaps an even more enchanting place--the Pumpkin Patch!

Anxious to pick out some decorative pumpkins? Want to get a head start on trick-or-treating? Then you've come to the right place! The Pumpkin Patch is where you can fill your favorite pumpkins up with items, BP/GP, pets, a silly Halloween or other holiday/seasonal message, or anything else (appropriate) that you like!

The instructions are simple: deposit a pumpkin in order to collect a pumpkin; you can collect one every ten minutes. (Note that all pumpkins must contain a minimum of 1,000 BP.) See? Easy! This feature runs purely on the effort of our community, so if you'd like to chat with your peers about the patch, see what other people are picking up (and putting in), and maybe make some new friends, head on over to Aywas Talk.

Reminder: While we love this festive season of tricks as much as the Devilish Paleo, remember that while the pumpkins are anonymous to you, staff is able to track every single action in the patch. Keep it fun and PG-13, friends. If you try to ruin someone else's holiday experience, you will quickly find that your own will suffer.

We have many more surprises in store for you that will awaken as Halloween draws nearer, but hope you enjoy the features so far! :3

FYI: I'm not near done accepting pets from the Halloween submission thread yet, so stay tuned on news for that. I will make an announcement as soon as I'm done so you know which pets will be used, when to expect your payment, etc. Thank you for sharing in the season's spirit with us and helping to make our festivities such a joy. <3

This would be so great if I actually came across pets and not just "Something speeds by you but you are unable to determine what it was." about twenty times in a row... :( Is that supposed to be like that?
