@Kat I saw that as well. My post after was at least 15 pages later, and those people had multiple winning posts @_@ Just... how?

I posted 8 times and started 15 seconds before 6. My first post was the 8th one at 6pm so you probably didn't start soon enough?

Auranox (#28301) Opening multiple tabs and starting earlier than just clicking post one after another on the different tabs/posts. Kinda like Rob said. It's a good idea and honestly prolly one i'll just ;^^ :P but then again so may maaany others x'D

Thats what I meant, it could be according to anything. Priority could be set to the last letter of the username and its place in the alphabet. Giving staff priority seems logical to me under normal circumstances.

Most html requests are a packet of information sent to the server. So its unlikely there's a priority queue. If anything determines who gets served first, it would be the server's router deciding which of possibly multiple servers the POST goes to.

There's also a chance that the POST has a timestamp in the message itself, to rearrange the thread based on it. but i don't think that's the case. You would see posts shift around in threads, or timestamps going backwards occasionally.

Not necessarily, not if it timestamped it after it processed it :/ and if they use a database they likely have some sort of pre-programmed queue, priority or otherwise. Even if it is just a regular queue of some sort. Queues are funny things :P

Dangit! I KNEW having my bf over would ruin this last chance; alarm went off, but we were watching the telly and I totally forgot why I'd set it until 11:59, at which time I leapt up, just to find no pages loading! *SIGH* Guess I'll have to wait 'til next time or SOMEhow get one in some other way. *sobs uncontrollably*
