I agree with the comments about the same winners over and over again. And it also seems rainbow wins everytime. I think maybe to keep it fair they should have to wait a month before they're able to enter again. That way it gives more chances. But you definitely don't need a high status to make the voting. My coloration made finalists, yes by the way it looks now, it's not going to win, but the fun part is entering. It was fun to participate and colour it and I loved seeing everyone's designs. So basically don't be afraid to enter because you don't think you're good enough. You'll never get a chance if you don't put yourself out there. Aywas is such a more enjoyable place when you join in the forums and events.
PS, I don't want anyone to think I'm giving hate. I love this site and all of the events, I'm just posting an opinion. :)

To all those people to afraid to enter these competitions, I was also afraid thinking I would fail like I did last time because I'm not good enough to be chosen. Good thing I was proven wrong.

oO Rainbow has only won once before this contest, so I'm not sure how it "always" wins.
However I would like to interject that I put every complete entry into my browser and went through them like that. I didn't know names, and chose only based on what was done nicely, what I felt would be versatile to everyone's uses, and tried to ensure I got as wide a spectrum of colours as possible.
I had to pare down my finalists three times, and in the end needed a member of staff to go through the thread to find the ones they liked, so I could match up to my choices and bring it down further. There were a LOT of fantastic entries this month and it was hard to choose what I thought people would like.
As for being intimidated to enter - don't be. Everyone should enter, and I actively encourage that everyone tries because you can never tell when it'll pay off. I really want to see lots of names I do and don't know in the threads next month, and I want to be inundated with so many bases and colourations that I sit and cry because I can't choose them all. Because... in the nicest way... I don't care who you are, as long as you have a set that is aesthetically pleasing. That is the singular goal here - to make something that looks good =)

Its great that they're done like that, but it would still be nice to limit the amount of times a person could win per year.

Some people that enter never even get to the vote, even if they might have won or been just as good as some up there because of the limited number. As for "popular vote" you can't say there isn't a bias towards people who have won before. They won *because* they were considered that good, or they stick with the same themes that everyone still votes for, also leading to the "same thing over again" bit. Even a great design can get lost among other great designs and never have a chance.

My only this is most companies do not allow staff, admin, employes or employes families to partake in contest. It can be seen as a conflict of interest, or could be seen as cheating, favortism, ect ect. Least that is how it was in my dads company and it in the find print of the Mcdonalds monolopy contest as well as a few others.

What if the people that win are very very good and are already very very well off gp/bp wise? It's not very fair to those that aren't, and are not only doing it for an attempt at contributor status, but to make money as well. I didn't enter last month because I wasn't feeling the set. When I feel the set, I color it, and I color it well. Yet because its not rainbow or some other cliche but popular coloration it doesn't make it. I don't condemn those taking advantage of those popular colorations, I just dislike that they win every month or every other month because of it.
