RBC kickback, late breedings, and Adopt a Custom

Site Update

Couple bits of housekeeping for everyone!

Some of you have noticed that RBC kickbacks are now gone. Staff had been unaware that allowing predicts again meant it had a kickback at all, and when I was alerted to it the consensus was to stop the kickback for RBC altogether. RBC and Derp aren't supposed to have a kickback for predicts. While this may be an inconvenience to some, it was never a stated fact for these two coins so we are using this newspost to properly clarify this for the future.

I know a few people have asked about their breedings having been assigned for awhile too -- I wanted to address this concern. January has been a particularly tough month on a lot of our artists, so there was a limited pool to reassign to, meaning some look as if they've been assigned a full month or longer. Some artists also came back and agreed to finish the list they've had for that extended time. So if you have been waiting on a breeding, never fear! They should be coming back within the next week, or being reassigned if need be.

Lastly, just a friendly reminder that the Adopt a Custom feature has been stocked up with pets, so if you're interested in applying for one, there's still a few from January left and a whole slew of gorgeous February customs up for grabs! :3 Our Knowledge Base has an article on how the feature works, so get your creativity flowing and you might be able to take home a new friend!

More work is going on behind the scenes to clean up a few other areas on the breeding side, so expect more updates coming soon!

As much as I'd love to adopt one of the customs, not being coding gifted I don't stand a chance against the people who can make fancy pages.

I don't really get this newspost. What is kickbacks? and does it only influence RBC breedings with predicts or also those without. Sorry for asking this stupid question. I don't even know what kickback means as English is not my first language.

Does this update apply only to rbc's in terms of lists being reassigned? I have two bc breedings, one has been assigned over a month, the other is only about 3 days out from a month too.

I don't even know what kickbacks are AND English is my native language, so don't feel bad for asking, @3007. :)

Kickbacks are money the site gives you back for doing predicts on your own, to save them from paying artists. You currently get 3gp for doing LBC predicts yourself, and 300k for doing MBC predicts yourself.

thank you, Sylverwyng, for clarifying this! I was feeling kinda stupid too as I didn't know what kickbacks were. As to the topic of "adopt a custom": I fully agree with 35112. People with no coding skills whatsoever stand no chance at getting any of those customs. There should be a way to make it a bit more "equal chance for anyone"; as not all of us can be aces in coding.

47437 and35112, there are plenty of people out there who can help with coding. Ezra does it free. Everyone can have a chance, honestly

I understand what you mean Frey and the 3GP I got for my last ones were kinda high I admit, but still there is some work and creativity in even making a nie looking mutant. You could urn down crappy ma eones and give a smaller kickback amybe.. as I now totally feel discouraged to sacrifice my time for making mutants if there is no payout then having a mutant in my lair, that I could have done by site staff as well.

If many others think the same there miht be a much higher workload on your artist's shoulders soon again and those you need to pay for their work.^^
