Beta Work!

New Feature

Our beta testers have given us a good amount of feedback. We're ready to work on that, so we've disabled the new custom adventure feature for now.

If you were not invited into the beta through a PM from me, you were not allowed to use the feature. We have noticed that a handful of people went and used the feature anyway despite not being authorized.

All of the pets collected by non-authorized betas were not meant to exist, and absolutely may not be sold, given away, or anything other than deleting these pets. Please be sure to release all of them. Thank you for understanding!

If you bought one of these pets from another user, please politely request a refund from that user. If problems arise, please bring it to a moderator's attention.

Lyra they are actually asking in this news post that everyone release/get rid of any pets they caught in the adventure if you were not part of the beta testing.

As many have said(myself included) it seems that the welcome back page being flooded with the pets was a big part of this, but besides that the testing area just should have been locked off unless you were invited into the beta.

As to the initial post and "it will be released to the public" For all I and I'm sure many could tell it was being released as it was accessible, all over the welcome back page(the pets), and often new things are released before any announcement is made. Really it all boils down to a horrible miscommunication.

I released all the pets I caught in the custom adventures. For future referece, a suggestion, use a beta server or dont give active links to beta areas in general public access areas.
I have been involved in both closed and open betas on many games and never seen this sort of thing happen.

I'm guessing that any nets we bought in custom Adventures is just a loss.Even tho we weren't aware that we weren't allowed in there.

I guess it is really bad communication. This new area should never have been 'open to the public' if it was not meant to be ready yet. The only people accessing it should have been the staff and the beta-testers. No one else. In no way should this fault the people who legitimately purchased nets/pets/adventure accessibility. Yet; you are punishing them all. Including those who sold these legitimate pets to others. Not only are they out the pet but they are out the money and then they have to Dish out more money to refund the player back what they started with. When that person gets nothing back at all. How is this fair? It's not and it's a huge miscommunication on the staff's part. Yet, they are fault the players for their own mistake. It's not right and something should be done to compensate those players who were not breaking any rules. If it was on the welcome back page then clearly it is accessible and able to be played. If they hadn't wanted them there, they should never have made the new feature public yet. This isn't how you run beta testing at all.

So the staff make a huge mistake, and the users have to pay for it. I guess that's one way to "fix" the inflation problem. Way to be classy, Aywas. I'm glad I didn't stumble upon the feature and get conned into spending my paws like the other poor folks here.

Quite honestly, I am surprised that people didn't know, I mean, saying that they need BETA TESTERS is a good idea that something might not be right, and that you shouldn't touch it yet, unless you volunteered, and they said you could.

What with all the big news posts around Halloween and the start of November it's very easy to miss a news post. Most people found the feature through the welcome back page, there were active links and no notices that it was a beta only area. I caught 3pets and have released them, but I honestly didn't know that it was in beta, I followed a link. Should I have checked before catching pets? Probably, but I didn't and a lot of other people also didn't.

I went through the welcome page too. Did not catch anything and found the news post after. So just left it. There were lots of the same pets in the news feed and looked pretty. Just thought they were in a explore area that we can all get too and wondered which area to catch them in was... maybe it was a event?. Seeing a new explore area made me think that theres a event I was missing o.o It was only after stumbling across it that I found the news post all crossed out. Lucky I only had a peek but it still took gp that I hadn't noticed until it was pointed out. I now know I wasn't meant to be there but before I went in I hadn't a clue x.x

Oh, and thanks for the apology on behalf of the staff that fuuukd up, seriously, thanks a lot.
You know, for warning us and all.
And several news posts later you don't even apologize for screwing up half of Aywas for your stupidity, for your carelessness?
I knew this was the best virtual pet site from the moment I joined.

I spent a good handful of bp playing this feature as well.
I didn't see any prior news post about it, like other users, I followed a link from the welcome back page, when I saw all of the pretty customs popping up.
I'm glad I didn't pay gp for any of the adventures, but still, that means I'll lose all the bp from the nets I purchased. I agree with the other users when the say you messed up here. You shouldnt punish your players for playing. If you knew there was a problem, you should have posted IMMEDIATELY, rather than waiting several days later. Poor communication. IMO you should make SOME sort of exchange, (i'm not saying something HUGE) to soothe burnt feelings.
