Pets

This is a VERY important announcement regarding our site pets. Please read carefully! :D
For the past 3 years since I took an active role in the pet department, a large team of helpers has helped me go from 2 site pet PSDs to over 2800 site pet PSDs in our hands, completely organized, and accessible to our breeding artists.
But, we have over 5000 site pets on site. So we're missing about 2,200 PSDs and obviously we want to have as many of these PSDs as possible.
And with a huge thanks to Eveglori, we now have a spreadsheet of every single PSD we don't have!

So here is where you come into play. I'm sure there are users out there, either the original artists, or people who got their hands on the PSD, that have PSDs we do not have.
What we want you to do, is to check this spreadsheet. This spreadsheet lists all the pets we don't have PSDs for. If you have one listed there, send it to [email protected] with the subject of the email being the name of the pet and the genus (ex. "Binary Melo"). You can send more than one PSD in a single email, just list all of their names and genera in the subject.
Please do not send it to any other email, as that often happens.
We are not looking for remakes of the PSDs. We are mainly looking for the original PSDs that the original artist made.
Together we can get closer to completing our collection!
Note: If you're the original artist of a PSD that we do not have and the PSD file is lost/gone completely, we'd love to know that too. We can then mark that PSD as "lost" and not prioritize it when we're searching for them. Or if it's gone and you know you had sent it to ____ user at some point, that'd be helpful to know too.

@2064 - Please send in the other 2 Cheve PSDs that were accepted, if you haven't already. :3 We collect the PSDs for all accepted pets, not just ones that are currently site pets.

Re-sent my Weigela Vyne and Summer Garden Path Rogr, I guess either the first email way back got lost, or your system doesn't like having 2 PSDs sent in one email, or something. xD

I'll re-send the Russet Avian but just so you know it's an SAI file and you'll have trouble with it in Photoshop. Not to mention that the Russet and Silver Avian were altered from how they originally looked, so the PSD is not exact. - Red

@1010 I am always diligent with my PSDs, but I do not think I have sent in one for an accepted Phanto coloration, and I KNOW I haven't sent in my accepted Halloween design... I'm going to assume that I should go ahead and email them, and keep in mind that in the future I can go ahead and send them as soon as a design is accepted, right?

@43508 - Yep! Just send in your PSDs right when they're accepted, and go ahead and email the others you talked about!

@1010 Yeah, with the shop pets, we're reminded to send them in twice (in the submission thread and in the news post). With the excitement surrounding events, it never crossed my mind to ask about them! I sent all those in, so I should be up to date on the site pet PSDs I've made so far. :3

@1010 I've found a couple of PSDs for the pets I designed on the list, should I send them over with an individual pet PSD per email with its name in the subject or just batch them all together into one big parcel with all of the names in the subject? C:

@99 - Batching them together into one email works fine. :3

Wow well I shall look over it later today when I'm more awake and see but, I tend to send in my PSDs so, hopefully it's none of mine xD.

PSDs are Photoshop Documents. They are the default file extension of Adobe System's Photoshop program. For example, if you go to the genus guide, you can download one of the genera's PSDs. If you download it and open it in an art program such as GIMP, SAI, or Photoshop, it'll open up showing all the components of the pet. Lineart, base, shading, highlighting, markings, colors, and you can edit them all separately. It's similar to if you took a piece of paper, drew the lines of a pet, and then took tracing paper on top of that and shaded the pet, and put tracing paper on top of THAT and colored the pet. Put them together and it makes an image, but you can also flip through each "step" and edit each "step". Whereas if you just open a .PNG or .JPG, it'll just open a flat image of whatever it was. It doesn't have editable components and it's just as if you were looking at the image on your browser, or if you took a piece of paper and drew it all on the same page (lines, shading, and color). As Lyra/Sathonyx said, if we have a workable PSD file it allows the breeding artists to use the components of the pet to make better babies than they could with a flat image. :3
