Scav Results - Delay

Site Update

Due to some reports coming in, the earlier Scavenger Hunt results are now considered tentative. Two admins are going to be going through the top thirteen teams to investigate the reports sent to us.

As soon as we have results (whether the same or altered) we'll let you know. In the meantime, the prize shop will be delayed as we investigate.

Thank you for your patience!

I was a bit worried about this from the moment they asked plauers to be judges. I was skeptical that perhaos judges would give unfair leniency or points to teams that their friends were on.

Personally as a judge, I didn't care what team my friend were on, they were all judged the same. :/

We didn't submit our website because we used a premade template website builder, and learned later that this wouldn't qualify. I feel it's kind of the same thing here.

- Q: Can we use Wix, Weebly, etc. (website making programs) or does the website have to be from "scratch"?
- - A: Please do it from scratch - you may use HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C+++, etc.

Directly from the judges thread. "Borrowing" someones code, even with permission, is technically using help from outside of Aywas, which is not permitted for Scav tasks as far as I understood it.

I don't think they should be DQ'd, but the points they got from that task alone should be deducted from their final score. Cheating is not cool, and the userbase seems to be of the opinion that they cheated. Heck, even a member of the team came out and said so.

Cheating is cheating and should not be pushed under the table with a slap on the hand. If they don't disqualify them, the next scav will have more people trying to cheat or find loopholes knowing that if they get caught, they can still play and just not get points for that task.

Eek, I'm so nervous! I hope this doesn't mean our team ends up placing lower o.o;;;

Same here Suea! I'm particularly nervous about the fact that they cut the number of at 13 which is my team o.o

slash investigated the claim, slash made a ruling. End of the matter, there is no higher authority. The 3rd party material was deemed extra - would it be fair to disqualify a writing task where someone wrote 50k/50k words, then added 5k more with The Song That Never Ends over and above the word count? No, because they still met the requirements of the task, on their own.

The third party material in question was coding, aka the layout, the basis of any web page. Now if you use the 50k word task as an example, the basis of that would be the plot. Now if you "borrowed" the plot from some 50k+ word story wouldn't that be considered plagiarism?

Now if people could try THIS hard in something that actually makes sense the world would be a much better place. I love how Slash and Gray said no, but people are still trying to change that.
