Scav Results - Delay

Site Update

Due to some reports coming in, the earlier Scavenger Hunt results are now considered tentative. Two admins are going to be going through the top thirteen teams to investigate the reports sent to us.

As soon as we have results (whether the same or altered) we'll let you know. In the meantime, the prize shop will be delayed as we investigate.

Thank you for your patience!

Just curious, how long do you expect this to take?

What I gathered is mainly from hearsay, so sorry if I got stuff wrong. I understand team LoM had permission (I read the comments here), but I thought we were told it had to be from the scratch, and that's where it doesn't fit the rules in my opinion. As far as I understood, and my teammates did too, we weren't allowed to use pre-existing site templates or website making programs and alter them to fit the task. I thought the rules were quite clear that way, but seeing team LoM's site being approved has been really confusing me.
I'm not the judge, and I don't know the details of what they did and I do not seek to contest any judgings, but since explaining is done here apparently, would you please mind letting us know, I'm just curious about it?

This investigation is not a result of LoM's website task. As slash has repeated several times, the website was deemed to fit the task requirements because 1. They had written permission to use those assets 2. the website fit the requirements without them.

What happened? I hope everything goes okay, however!

Regardless if they borrowed the code with permission or not and then substituted LoM's graphics for their own, it goes against the 'create your own website' requirement. The requirement wasn't "create your own website graphics". That would've been fine. The whole point of Aywas and scav is to be creative in your submissions (not to mention have fun!). Taking a shortcut or using a loophole contradicted that. If it was allowed it should have been made plain for every team participating.

I.e: Create your own website (premade coding, borrowed coding and/or purchased coding would also be allowed).

I have a feeling if this were up front for all the teams to see and take advantage of it wouldn't have become a problem.

As others said, if anyone has cheated, it should become an instant disqualification and become permanently banned from doing any future Scavenger Hunts. I would like to add that if any of the users cheated and wish to do more scavenger hunts, and IF they are forever banned from SH, they should have to email a letter that sounds professional, is long, and gives more than one reason as to WHY they should be unbanned from the SH's, and of course a good part of that should be for apologizing for what they did and how wrong it was. it's up to the admins if that player can participate in future SH or not

Next year, if there is even a next year, I hope the Scav will be better. When I mean better I mean equal rules for everyone and original ideas only would be nice.

no doubt going to be hated for this comment lol - BUT the task list doesn;t say anything about website having to be from scratch
