Search Options ►Scav Results - Delay
Site Update
Due to some reports coming in, the earlier Scavenger Hunt results are now considered tentative. Two admins are going to be going through the top thirteen teams to investigate the reports sent to us.
As soon as we have results (whether the same or altered) we'll let you know. In the meantime, the prize shop will be delayed as we investigate.
Thank you for your patience!

No, not really. Not when if you remove that content, the entry fits the task, thus counts as extra and unnecessary for judging. And not when contacted the game site said it's okay to use their files. Therefore, not cheating.

Still, wouldn't that kill the purpose of the do your own work rules set in place? Since you're technically using files from someplace else?

I'd love it if next year the rules for the tasks were linked below each task. Or heck, written on teach task. Not just in a thread that someone might actually miss. I had to hunt down the thread each time I wanted to check on something and then read the entire thing to make sure that I didn't miss anything. Was just silly. Rules should be set in stone for each task before they are released. Have the panel of judges and a group of people who want to skip scav look over them before hand if need be. Something. It's just crazy to have to keep checking to make sure that the rules didn't change every few days because you've already put a ton of work into a task. Large tasks should always have a partial option.

And this is why I don't bother with Scav. Drama.

Nah, because the work they did do themselves fits the task. Like I said before, if you remove the "extras" that they didn't make and had permission to use, the entry fits the requirements of the task.

This was the first time with judges who weren't admin so there are bound to be bugs. Just think of the time spent making sure everything's right now as time spent ensuring things run more smoothly next year.

This is going to sound like a really really stupid question on my part Slash since I'm totally confused. So if I were to hypothetically take the coding from the ayways main page, and use to it create my own website that'd be okay right? Or if I took only part of the coding from adventure and made my own game, that would run with out your coding, but looked and functioned better with the part of coding I took from aywas... That would be okay wouldn't it? I mean since really my site and game could function on their own with out the coding, the "extras" just helped or made it look nice?

I'm glad they are looking into things and I'm willing to wait for the cheaters to be caught and DQ'ed. I agree to that the judges changing rules along the way with no notice and some people getting points while others didn't. Also some of the judges were too strict on rules or changing and adding rules and a lot of players didn't know. I mean had I not been watching a few of the threads my team wouldn't have known about some of the rule changes. IMO if you don't have a question about a task then why would you go to the thread and check for anything? Also you'd have to waste time digging through the posts to find rules changes as not all judges would post the new rules or rule changes on the first post/page. So yeah cheaters need to be DQ'ed and placements need to be adjusted
