Site Update
I have a Lunar Meteor update for you, but before I get to that, I wanted to share a personal anecdote with you that just so happens to coincide with the magic of this region.
You always hear stories about people seeing strange things in the sky, whether it's another planet, a stealth plane or other flying object, or an actual meteorological event, but about the most exciting thing I've ever seen in the sky is a bat--and even then, I'm not 100% positive it was one.
Tonight though, I looked out the window to see glowing lights off in the distance moving toward my house. At first I couldn't tell how high they were in the air, but it was clear that they were moving quickly, all following the same path, one after the other in a seemingly endless stream of flickering light. I realized that they were moving with the wind, and they were lower than I originally thought, but they were definitely literally flickering like a candle. That's when we realized they were lanterns! I don't know where they were being released from or why, but they were beautiful. I couldn't have picked a more perfect night to see them, either. :3
Feel free to leave a note in the comments about neat things you've seen in the sky!
Now, onto the pet additions!
5 new pets have been added to the region to round out our zodiac pets and the new colorations for the region this year!
We have also added the Lunar Meteor Day Wallpaper to the Advent Calendar! You can collect it any time on August 18th (tomorrow).
For you night owls, you'll find the night version of the wallpaper in the Advent Calendar on the following day (August 19th).
Enjoy the pretty lights!

Awww beautiful...your story reminds me of Tangled <3
Well the most incredible Thing I ever saw was..the Venus :3
I was 12 or 13 and in the middle of the day -I was in school that day- the Venus was visible. It was all over the news.
I didnt see much because the sun blinded me..but the thought alone was awesome! <3

My area isn't allowed Lanterns now after a huge fire at a recycling plant. But I see plenty of strange lights. It seems the town I live in is well know for ookie spookies. There's a large hill/mound near me that seems to encourage them. I've seen a triangle of lights in the past. Very weird. - L

The most fascinating thing I have seen in a night sky, was during my university days. I rode home on my bike one night after a long DnD session. It was full moon, yet cloudy, like my cities sky always is.
I don't know what caused me to stop and look up at the moon. But what I saw amazed me more than anyhing.
There was a big exactly circular hole in the clouds. And in the very center was the full moon, surrounded by this corona moons sometimes have when the air is very cold.
It looked like an enormous sky eye was looking straight down at me.

I was putting the dog out once, and I saw this rapidly ascending flashing light, which seemed to be revolving. It was a huge sphere of light. There was no sound, and it was very bright. I've never seen anything like that since.

I think the most amazing thing I have ever seen was an actual fireball. It was low and so bright in the color of blue, white with small hints of red. I wouldn't have time to get my camera so all I did was watch it but that moment is forever locked in my mind because it was so amazing a sight.

OH! On Friday I saw my very first shooting star. It was really pretty and amazing and it kinda seemed like the perfect time to finally see a shooting star ^_^
