Yoo hoo! *waves hanky* It's me again with another special delivery!

Did you know that today is Book Lover's Day? No? Well, neither did I until Shaylmesse (#13314) brought it to my attention-- and I'm blushing to have to admit my ignorance, because there are few greater pleasures than curling up with a good book! If you're like me and would just love to have your own little personal library, why don't you try Shaylmesse's gift on for size?

The Book Lover's Background is available in the Advent Calendar for the duration of today and tomorrow, up until August 10th, 11:59pm.

Ooh, but wait! There's more!

Tell me your favourite book (and why!) in the comments and you could be in with a chance of winning this set of custom crystals! I'm in need of some good new holiday reads and I'm sure I can't be the only one. :3 Chime in by August 10th, 11:59pm to ensure your spot in the draw (one entry per account, please).

Ooh, but wait! There's even more!!!

Do you remember I mentioned earlier in the week that I was having a tidy of my inbox? The invitation (and encouragement!) to nudge your outstanding Artist Pay is still open, but today I am asking you to bump up PMs pertaining to Lunarii switches. That means if you picked up the wrong Lunaris for the month and you're still waiting on me to swap 'em around for you, point yourself to my inbox sharpish!

Phew! Okay! That's everything - probably! Who knows! Yay! Exclamation marks!

Thank you for the background, Shaylmesse!

Just smell those new pages!

Oh no, books! You've started the flood.

Since my favorite book ever is also one of the most well known books in the universe, I'll just go with books I love.

If you want something that was well written and is just a gorgeous book from cover to cover, although also controversial, go with Songmaster by Orson Scott Card. It is probably one of his least known books and also arguably the most beautiful one as well. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in books about human emotions.

The Old Kingdom series by Garth Nix is a great read and much more lighter in heart. (Books: Sabriel, Lirael, Abhorsen) Are about something loosely related to necromancers, but in a way I feel is never done before. All in all, I loved this books and often reread them!
Also by Garth Nix is Shade's Children. It's about a future where "Overlords" have taken over the planet and only the children survive. And they are 'harvested' on their fourteenth birthday to become play toys for the overlords. I can't explain what a cat is to a crazy cat lady, so look it up for a better explanation. :P

Dragon's Eye by Stephen King is one of his fantasy (Not Horror!) books, and I can't even tell you how many times I have read this amazing book! It's not even about dragons, it's about a king with two sons and it goes through how they grow up. Obviously there is the much loved and good son, and the son that is just kind of pushed off to the side. And the (antagonist) Flagg uses that to his advantage to kill the king and pin it on the good son so he can rule through poor Thomas, the son that always got pushed to the side. Again, I mangle the story so bad, when it is just wonderful!!

A lesser known series is the Obsidian Chronicles, by Lawrence Watt-Evens, (Books: Dragon Weather, The Dragon Society, Dragon Venom) and they have a ~wonderful~ new take on the much abused subject of dragons. I loved the books, and I really do suggest them highly. There is something about these books, that I thought at first I wouldn't want to read them, then got sucked in and never wanted to leave without them!

And lastly, just in case you want some alternate history, read the well known Temeraire series by Naomi Novik. They are set in the Napoleonic wars... and dragons make up the new 'Air Force' where the dragons are much of soldiers with captains. There are a few books in this series, and they are well written and I read these books so much that my poor paperback book is falling apart.

Anyway, I could go on all day so I should probably take myself out the door before I write a new book about books. ^^;

My favorite book would have to be "The Sight" by David Clement Davies. I absolutely love all of his books and writing style, but the wolves are my favorite. I also love the mix of magic, love, suspense, and death emotions it has. He also does an amazing job of developing his characters fully and making you truly feel what they feel. It also does a beautiful job into bringing you into the lifestyle of a wolf pack and how they may think and view us humans. Overall an amazing read and definitely worth a look! If you do read it you need to read the sequel "Fell" as well. <3

My favorite book is Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen. It's set back when in the time of Robin Hood, but the story is about one of his friends. The characters, I think, are well thought out especially because there are so many different versions of the characters in the Robin Hood stories. I also really liked the plot and how the story turned out.

Favorite Book (series, if that's allowed) is called the Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel as a series, but has the subtitles of The Alchemyst (1) The Magician (2) The Sorceress (3) The Necromancer (4) The Warlock (5) and The Enchantress (6). It's about two twins, Josh and Sophie Newman, who are just normal 15 year old teenagers, until the Flamels turn their world around by revealing to them powers and worlds they never could have dreamed of, [Small spoiler alert that you find out in the first few pages of the first book, don't read the part in parenthesis if you don't want spoilers] because according to them, ((they are the twins of legend that must save the world)). But can they trust the Flamels? What secrets do these 700 year old French legends hold? It's not a question so much as if they have secrets or not but how many they hide. Find out who to trust and how Sophie and Josh become everything the world needs them to be in this 6 part series of continuous plot twists that keep you guessing until the very last second, when everything that happened finally clicks.

I have so many, but if I had to pick I would have to say my favorite book is R.A. Salvatore's Promise of the Witch King. It's the second part of the Sellsword Trilogy that stars my favorite Forgotten Realms character, Jarlaxle Baenre, and his former-servant-not-quite-friend the master assassin Artemis Entreri. I have to name it as my favorite book because I have read it so many times because I love Jarlaxle so much and of the trilogy it has the best story in my opinion.

"Gone With the Wind" by Margaret Mitchell; sure, Scarlett can be a petulant brat/b----, but she also taught me alot about perseverance and survival.

I don't have just one favorite. There are too many good books out there! My favorite re-reads are mainly in the assignment section of the library, "To Kill A Mockingbird," Alcott's "Little Women" trilogy, etc.
Try Robert Asprin or Peirs Anthony for something lighthearted. They both make me laugh!
