Yoo hoo! *waves hanky* It's me again with another special delivery!
Did you know that today is Book Lover's Day? No? Well, neither did I until Shaylmesse (#13314) brought it to my attention-- and I'm blushing to have to admit my ignorance, because there are few greater pleasures than curling up with a good book! If you're like me and would just love to have your own little personal library, why don't you try Shaylmesse's gift on for size?
The Book Lover's Background is available in the Advent Calendar for the duration of today and tomorrow, up until August 10th, 11:59pm.
Ooh, but wait! There's more!
Tell me your favourite book (and why!) in the comments and you could be in with a chance of winning this set of custom crystals! I'm in need of some good new holiday reads and I'm sure I can't be the only one. :3 Chime in by August 10th, 11:59pm to ensure your spot in the draw (one entry per account, please).
Ooh, but wait! There's even more!!!
Do you remember I mentioned earlier in the week that I was having a tidy of my inbox? The invitation (and encouragement!) to nudge your outstanding Artist Pay is still open, but today I am asking you to bump up PMs pertaining to Lunarii switches. That means if you picked up the wrong Lunaris for the month and you're still waiting on me to swap 'em around for you, point yourself to my inbox sharpish!
Phew! Okay! That's everything - probably! Who knows! Yay! Exclamation marks!
Thank you for the background, Shaylmesse!
Just smell those new pages!

I absolutely love Vampire Kisses Series By Ellen Schreiber. The characters and the plots are amazing.
The main character Raven Madison, I feel like I can really connect with her. As being an outsider in a small town, just looking for anything less than dullsville.
Also, she wants to design goth fashion like me. q le perfect!
Note I have a secret crush on the nefarious Jagger Maxwell. Seriously who wouldn't be interested in a guy with white hair and blood dipped ends. He just my perfect kind of baddie. ^^

House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski is my ultimate favorite book for many reasons. First is that the layout of the pages and words are completely unusual. One page may be crammed with words, the next may have only one word on it, the next you may need to hold up to a mirror to uncover the story. The story itself is amazing! But the best part is you can reread it and get something totally new out of it that you missed. I have read it three times now.

My favorite book has to be Every Other Day by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. It's about a girl who hunts demons when her predatory instincts kick in. It's a wonderful read, and it's my favorite book because it has a quote that I really love. It goes something like, "Things will get better, but first they're going to have to get worse."

My favorite book of all time would have to be the Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice. Mainly because I like it how the assumed "bad" guy from the first of her series gave his store of where he came from and went through.
Though of late the Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne is slowly weaseling its way up there.

I absolutely love the book The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. It is a fantasy epic to end all epics. It is the first of the books in the Kingkiller Trilogy, and once you pick it up, you would be very hard pressed to stop at the first. Its sequel is out, and it's called Wise Man's Fear, and Doors of Stone should be out possibly sometime next year. There will also be a television series sometime soon, which is exciting, if a bit terrifying! =D

The Little Prince, by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It's a beautiful, quick read that serves as a reminder that imagination and whimsy are important things in life, even for adults.

While Donna and I have sometimes a ... slightly different taste in books (I admit, I may lean partial towards the gruesome and creepy, and she prefers to whack me with those kind of books instead of reading them), we can both absolutely recommend Neil Gaiman's "Neverwhere". It's a wonderfully intriguing book for all ages (well. Over 15, at least -- it certainly has it's darker movents), dealing with life, responsibility, friendship, courage, and everything in between. Oh, and a whole new city below the surface of London - a city of magic, darkness, and infinite opportunities you should not miss. Give the book a shot, you might get hooked on the beautiful characters and the cleverly written world that is London Below.
