Yoo hoo! *waves hanky* It's me again with another special delivery!
Did you know that today is Book Lover's Day? No? Well, neither did I until Shaylmesse (#13314) brought it to my attention-- and I'm blushing to have to admit my ignorance, because there are few greater pleasures than curling up with a good book! If you're like me and would just love to have your own little personal library, why don't you try Shaylmesse's gift on for size?
The Book Lover's Background is available in the Advent Calendar for the duration of today and tomorrow, up until August 10th, 11:59pm.
Ooh, but wait! There's more!
Tell me your favourite book (and why!) in the comments and you could be in with a chance of winning this set of custom crystals! I'm in need of some good new holiday reads and I'm sure I can't be the only one. :3 Chime in by August 10th, 11:59pm to ensure your spot in the draw (one entry per account, please).
Ooh, but wait! There's even more!!!
Do you remember I mentioned earlier in the week that I was having a tidy of my inbox? The invitation (and encouragement!) to nudge your outstanding Artist Pay is still open, but today I am asking you to bump up PMs pertaining to Lunarii switches. That means if you picked up the wrong Lunaris for the month and you're still waiting on me to swap 'em around for you, point yourself to my inbox sharpish!
Phew! Okay! That's everything - probably! Who knows! Yay! Exclamation marks!
Thank you for the background, Shaylmesse!
Just smell those new pages!

I don't have just one favourite book, but if I had to make a choice, it'll be the Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. I find his allomancers quite original, and the twisting plot is greatly done. :)
There's also A song of ice and fire, but I'm sure you've already read that if you love great scenarii.

My favorite book is actually a small series of books by by Jean M. Auel. The first on is called The Clan of the Cave Bear. The sequel is The Valley of Horses. It continues with The Mammoth Hunters. Then follows The Plains of Passage. Next is the The Shelters of Stone. Finally comes The Land of Painted Caves as the sixth and final book of the Earth's Children series.

Hmm well I dunno if we have the same taste or if you've read these but
The Mortal Instruments and the Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare are two really good book series. I think they're more for teens, so I don't know if you would like them, but in my opinion they're definitely worth checking out. I have to say the last book in the Infernal Devices series was beautifully written.
All of Jodi Picoult's book she is an amazing author. I know you said 'favourite' but they're so many great books out there... you just can't pick a fav >_> One book of Picoult's is Nineteen Minutes, it's amazing, have you read it?
Maggie Stiefvater's a pretty good author too, I don't whether they're more for teens though. I especially love Books of Faerie and the Shiver trilogy :)
Yeah I'll stop now xD I do love books, they're one of my passions! <3

Dragonlance Chronicles
This is a story in a land of magic and dragons, very well written and it really pulls you in.
You will on your journey experience adventure, exitment and worry - also a couple of completly ridicolus situations you wont be able to not laugh at.
If you try these books I'm sure you will enjoy them just as much as i did

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, I love all of the Harry Potter novels and will happily sit down and read one or all of them again, when the mood strikes me, it's the second that I have read the most though.

I have a whole lot of books on my shelf which I have read over countless times. If I had to choose a favourite it would be Eragon by Christopher Paolini :3
It has all of my favourite things in it, magic, fantasy, dragons and adventure X3

My favorite book is Freeware by Rudy Rucker. It's the book that got me into cyberpunk in general and it's hilarious and full of ideas. So many ideas.

The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch is one of the best books out there, IMO. It's an atmospheric romp through pseudo-Renaissance Italy with a magical alternate universe twist. The descriptions are delicious, the characters are fun, and the dialogue is snappy. The world building is fairly in-depth, and you get attached to the world very quickly. You get to see various sides of the society as well, due to the main characters being con artists who target the wealthy and hide among the poor.
It's got some really fabulous writing and while the second is a lot more 'meh', it's good enough to stand on its own.
