Yoo hoo! *waves hanky* It's me again with another special delivery!
Did you know that today is Book Lover's Day? No? Well, neither did I until Shaylmesse (#13314) brought it to my attention-- and I'm blushing to have to admit my ignorance, because there are few greater pleasures than curling up with a good book! If you're like me and would just love to have your own little personal library, why don't you try Shaylmesse's gift on for size?
The Book Lover's Background is available in the Advent Calendar for the duration of today and tomorrow, up until August 10th, 11:59pm.
Ooh, but wait! There's more!
Tell me your favourite book (and why!) in the comments and you could be in with a chance of winning this set of custom crystals! I'm in need of some good new holiday reads and I'm sure I can't be the only one. :3 Chime in by August 10th, 11:59pm to ensure your spot in the draw (one entry per account, please).
Ooh, but wait! There's even more!!!
Do you remember I mentioned earlier in the week that I was having a tidy of my inbox? The invitation (and encouragement!) to nudge your outstanding Artist Pay is still open, but today I am asking you to bump up PMs pertaining to Lunarii switches. That means if you picked up the wrong Lunaris for the month and you're still waiting on me to swap 'em around for you, point yourself to my inbox sharpish!
Phew! Okay! That's everything - probably! Who knows! Yay! Exclamation marks!
Thank you for the background, Shaylmesse!
Just smell those new pages!

You should try The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho sometime! :D I thought it was just a short little story at first, but then it drew me in and never let me go. It's a tale of a boy seeking treasure, and in the process, finds himself. It contains philosophical discussion that is easily digestible and thought-provoking. And the tone of the story throughout the entire book is pretty laid-back. I felt very relaxed and happy while reading and finishing it. :D

My favourite book is... probably Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I love Umbridge so much (or rather, I love to hate her. She's so evil! It's great!) and because Harry is starting to grow up and realize what it really means to be the one who's going to have to defeat Voldemort someday. Also, the trio is kind of doing things of their own accord rather than everything just sort of... happening to them.

The Defector by Daniel Silva. Suspense, thrilling action, cliffhangers and a few bumpy twists and turns. Truly an amazing book filled with espionage and mystery.

I read Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park at least a dozen times. Dinosaurs & mayhem, what's not to like? The paperback was disintegrating when I lent it to a friend, who never gave it back! D:

I'd honestly recommend the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. If you really like fantasy books, I'd say give them a try, the first one grabs you within the first chapter and you have to keep reading to find out all the secrets that one of the main characters have. The series if fourteen books long and I'm currently in number five myself and I've gotten a friend of mine hooked on them as well.

One of my favourite books is 'Written in Bone' by Simon Beckett. I absolutely love his David Hunter Series and this book has such an amazing and thrilling end.

Oh my gosh...there are so many books that I just love. The Harry Potter series come to mind, but if you're looking for something more grown up, I recommend most anything by James Patterson. I really loved his Sundays at Tiffany's. It was a romance that revolved around a woman and her imaginary friend. Anyways, I really liked it so I thought I'd pass it along =).
