Yoo hoo! *waves hanky* It's me again with another special delivery!
Did you know that today is Book Lover's Day? No? Well, neither did I until Shaylmesse (#13314) brought it to my attention-- and I'm blushing to have to admit my ignorance, because there are few greater pleasures than curling up with a good book! If you're like me and would just love to have your own little personal library, why don't you try Shaylmesse's gift on for size?
The Book Lover's Background is available in the Advent Calendar for the duration of today and tomorrow, up until August 10th, 11:59pm.
Ooh, but wait! There's more!
Tell me your favourite book (and why!) in the comments and you could be in with a chance of winning this set of custom crystals! I'm in need of some good new holiday reads and I'm sure I can't be the only one. :3 Chime in by August 10th, 11:59pm to ensure your spot in the draw (one entry per account, please).
Ooh, but wait! There's even more!!!
Do you remember I mentioned earlier in the week that I was having a tidy of my inbox? The invitation (and encouragement!) to nudge your outstanding Artist Pay is still open, but today I am asking you to bump up PMs pertaining to Lunarii switches. That means if you picked up the wrong Lunaris for the month and you're still waiting on me to swap 'em around for you, point yourself to my inbox sharpish!
Phew! Okay! That's everything - probably! Who knows! Yay! Exclamation marks!
Thank you for the background, Shaylmesse!
Just smell those new pages!

I don't really have one single book I consider my favorite, I've read a lot of books that I really love. That said, the Love Me With Lies series/trilogy by Tarryn Fisher is probably the best books I've read in the past year.

I can't think of a favorite book, since I have so many favorite series..but The Princess Bride is a magnificent book, just as brilliant as the movie. It hits all the important bits in fantasy novels- true love, sword fighting, torture, death, piracy, kidnapping, miracles..The usual! I will always recommend it as a stand-alone. Another great read is Howl's Moving Castle.

I cannot pick my favorite book, but one that is particularly memorable for me is Spin by Robert Charles Wilson. It's sci fi, but less focused on the tech and more focused on the story. The relationships are just so incredibly realistic and well done. The characters are among the most believable I've ever read.

Any of the Heralds of Valdemar books by Mercedes Lackey are by far my favorite books of all time. If you like fantasy and many books all centered around the same world (generally she writes trilogies about a certain person and moves on to another, though previous ones might be featured in others), I'd definitely recommend them. The Last Herald-Mage series is likely my favorite of them. I love her writing, her characters, and the depth of emotion I get from her books. The Last Herald-Mage books are one of the only two books I have ever cried during. This does not mean it is all sad, however. I don't enjoy books that only depress me. Definitely give them a try if you haven't and are at all interested!

So many choices, how to choose!?
Well, I'll suggest the Obsidian Chronicles (by Lawrence Watt-Evans), as it's not a very well known series, but it is fantastically written and has managed to hold my interest reading through it for the third time recently. It is about dragons and magic, but has a unique view on these things which I have never seen in any other series.

My favorite book is definitely The False Prince, by Jennifer A. Nielsen. Great voice with a great story. When I first picked it up, I was pretty sure I knew what was going to happen, but I love the way it's written and how every time I read this book, I found something in the pages I've previously overlooked.
I'm on my fifth read and the magic is still working :)

I have too many favorite books/series to only name one. . . TuT. . .
So here's a list! :D
-The Sea of Trolls
-Divergent & Insurgent
-The Septimus Heap series. (Starts with Magyk)
-Dark Life
-The Uglies series. (Uglies, Pretties, Specials, Extras)
-Seraphina
-Harry Potter (You've probably already read this. . xD)
I would name more, but these are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. . I would get out of bed and go look on my good book shelf but I fell and hurt my knee so I'd rather not move. |D

StarSplit by Kathryn Lasky. Genetic manipulations, future cultures, misinterpretations of current society and secret organisations. It's really interesting, but at the same time I don't want to give the whole story away.
