Yoo hoo! *waves hanky* It's me again with another special delivery!
Did you know that today is Book Lover's Day? No? Well, neither did I until Shaylmesse (#13314) brought it to my attention-- and I'm blushing to have to admit my ignorance, because there are few greater pleasures than curling up with a good book! If you're like me and would just love to have your own little personal library, why don't you try Shaylmesse's gift on for size?
The Book Lover's Background is available in the Advent Calendar for the duration of today and tomorrow, up until August 10th, 11:59pm.
Ooh, but wait! There's more!
Tell me your favourite book (and why!) in the comments and you could be in with a chance of winning this set of custom crystals! I'm in need of some good new holiday reads and I'm sure I can't be the only one. :3 Chime in by August 10th, 11:59pm to ensure your spot in the draw (one entry per account, please).
Ooh, but wait! There's even more!!!
Do you remember I mentioned earlier in the week that I was having a tidy of my inbox? The invitation (and encouragement!) to nudge your outstanding Artist Pay is still open, but today I am asking you to bump up PMs pertaining to Lunarii switches. That means if you picked up the wrong Lunaris for the month and you're still waiting on me to swap 'em around for you, point yourself to my inbox sharpish!
Phew! Okay! That's everything - probably! Who knows! Yay! Exclamation marks!
Thank you for the background, Shaylmesse!
Just smell those new pages!

My current favorite is The Song of the Summer King by Jess E. Owens. It's a fantasy book about griffins with some wolves in there as well. It's an easy but really fun read, and the next book should be coming out soon. I would highly recommend the book to anyone, and the author usually signs all books that are sold and ships them to you. c: As of right now, I think you still get the first edition print when you buy!

My favorite book as of recent, despite not being recently published at all, would be Dies the Fire by S.M. Stirling. It's the first book in 'The Emberverse series', which all follow the same plotline.
The plotline involves the trials and experiences of a group of strangers who band together to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. Suddenly, the majority of technology no longer works, and of course the world erupts into chaos. Survivors of initial chaos (planes falling out of the sky, major cities being ransacked, etc) all start finding different groups or 'clans' and trying to make it in the wild despite outside threats (nature and human alike). It's great!

I have a lot of favorites, but I'm going to go with Tailchaser's Song, by Tad Williams. It's pretty much Watership Down for cats, and when I was a lot younger, my best friend's mom owned the book. I borrowed it from here one day, read it all in one sitting, loved it, sadly returned it... and then borrowed it again so many times that she finally got me a copy of my own. I still have it, with the very affectionate note in the cover from her, and I still love that book many years later. I just re-read it a few weeks ago and it only renewed my fondness for the book. Oddly, I have never read anything else by Tad Williams. ;)

Jingo, by Terry Pratchett.
The entire Discworld series is amazing, but that's the first one I read and it's probably my favorite because of it. My copy's falling apart because I've read it so many times. XD

Hhmm. I have read a lot of books ever since I have learned to read, so it's kind of difficult to choose a favorite book. But if I would have to choose it would be "Inkheart" by Cornelia Funke. I also really enjoy the "Inkheart" trilogies, "Inkspell" and "Inkdeath". Trust me, once you start reading "Inkheart" you won't want to put it away. The book starts out with Meggie's father reading her the book "Inkheart" and an evil ruler escapes from the book.... I don't really want to spoil too much of the book if you ever do decide to read it, so I won't say much more.

I highly recommend Swan Song by Robert R. McCammon. Post-apocalyptic with a little special something. I haven't read it in years, but I absolutely loved it!

My favorite book series is, hands down, the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman. *o* And if you read it, I would love to have theological discussions with you! The world he creates and the spiritual questions he asks are beautiful, although also scary. His character creation is fantastic as well. The first book is The Golden Compass. Don't judge it by its movie, which has a few redeemable moments but doesn't hold a candle to it.

My favorite book would have to be "Watchers" by Dean R. Koontz. It's an easy-to-ready, engaging, and heartwarming tale about love, good vs. evil, scientific experiments that are a little too realistic for comfort, an outcast, and one very special dog.

My favorite book would be any of the Warrior Cat series by Erin Hunter. Even though the Warrior Cat series are aimed at younger teens and children, I know you would enjoy the series if you decided to read them. I enjoy all the adventures and mysteries that Erin Hunter includes in each book. The Warrior Cat series are interesting because Erin Hunter tells us how the wild cat clans interact with other clans and humans and their pets. I also just love the plots of each series. Each series has their unique story line that anyone can read and love.
