Yoo hoo! *waves hanky* It's me again with another special delivery!

Did you know that today is Book Lover's Day? No? Well, neither did I until Shaylmesse (#13314) brought it to my attention-- and I'm blushing to have to admit my ignorance, because there are few greater pleasures than curling up with a good book! If you're like me and would just love to have your own little personal library, why don't you try Shaylmesse's gift on for size?

The Book Lover's Background is available in the Advent Calendar for the duration of today and tomorrow, up until August 10th, 11:59pm.

Ooh, but wait! There's more!

Tell me your favourite book (and why!) in the comments and you could be in with a chance of winning this set of custom crystals! I'm in need of some good new holiday reads and I'm sure I can't be the only one. :3 Chime in by August 10th, 11:59pm to ensure your spot in the draw (one entry per account, please).

Ooh, but wait! There's even more!!!

Do you remember I mentioned earlier in the week that I was having a tidy of my inbox? The invitation (and encouragement!) to nudge your outstanding Artist Pay is still open, but today I am asking you to bump up PMs pertaining to Lunarii switches. That means if you picked up the wrong Lunaris for the month and you're still waiting on me to swap 'em around for you, point yourself to my inbox sharpish!

Phew! Okay! That's everything - probably! Who knows! Yay! Exclamation marks!

Thank you for the background, Shaylmesse!

Just smell those new pages!

Oh geez. Theres so many. I can't decide on one. I like Diana Wynne Jones, Brian Jacques...
I guess I'll just go with one of my oldest favorites (One of my first chapter books). Ozma of Oz by L. Frank Baum. I like it mostly for nostalgia reasons.

I had when I was young I had a book and it had three books in it. "The Marvelous Land of Oz", "The Marvelous Land of Oz" and "Ozma of Oz" It took around a year to read them all.
I loved Ozma of Oz best because of Billina, the pail food trees, Tik-Tok and the whole Nome Kingdom sequence. It was VERY exciting to me back then. Though I also LOVED Tip, Mombi (Just for being so bad), Pumpkinhead, Sawhorse, the gump and Wogglebug.
I was very proud of myself for reading such a big book.

Though when I was deciding which was my favorite I wasn't sure if I wanted to write about this book since I've read alot of good books now and have many favorites.. I'm very glad I did, It reminded me of how much I enjoyed it and next time at the library I'm going to check it out again.

On another note. Some good ones I read recently are "The Phantom Tollbooth" by Norton Juster (I was behaving very much like the main character when I read it)
"Candle Man" by Glenn Dakin," Airborn" by Kenneth Oppel, "The Mysterious Benedict Society" by Trenton Lee Stewart and "Skulduggery Pleasant" by Derek Landy.

I love the Harry Potter series, my favourite is Prisoner of Azkaban, I just loved getting to know a little more about what Harry's father was like. Secondly the Inheritance Series (Eregon), the movie was terrible and does it no justice but I love the books.

My favourite book of all time though, Stephanie's Ponytail by Robert Munsch. Yes its a children's book and takes like ten seconds to read but it was my favourite book all throughout childhood and what got me into reading in the first place. Plus its good to be reminiscent of the past every now and then isn't it? After all, growing up isn't all its cracked up to be.

One of my absolute favorite books is the Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater. It's about a girl who decides to compete in the annual water horse race on her pony to save her house. (This is a very bad and bare bones description, it's a lot better than I make it sound, I promise). I really love the characters and everything the author includes in the book. It's one of those books that I can sit and read over and over again. I love it :)

Dune by Frank Herbert is my favorite right now, with Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin coming in as a close second. I just love the world that Frank Herbert builds and all of those tiny, sciencey facts that he puts in.

The Dark Tower Series by Stephen King. I think there's 7 total books so technically it's not one, but once you've read one you can't stop.

I am really in love with the Greywalker Novels by Kat Richardson. They're an urban fantasy set in Seattle, which is where I live, and they take place around many things that I grew up with and still go visit. The series surrounds a PI who dies for a while before being saved, and gains powers based on it, and then starts having to deal with the hidden world of ghosties, ghoulies, and things that go bump in the night and all of the problems that they have. It's engaging, fun, sometimes sad, often happy, and has a ferret in.

My all-time favourite book series would have to be Diane Duane's "Young Wizards" series. It's a young adult series, but it's good as an adult (well, twentyish) reader. It looks like an urban fantasy, but it reads more like sci-fi: the "magic" is treated like programming, and the "wizards" are the literal IT staff for the universe. My favourite would probably be the third or seventh, "High Wizardry" and "Wizard's Holiday", but they're all excellent, even as a nine-book (and counting) series. (On that note, the continuity is actually quite good, for so many in a series: the characters age, old plots are referenced, and old characters turn up in later books quite regularly.)

I loved Crown Duel by Sherwood Smith.
