Yoo hoo! *waves hanky* It's me again with another special delivery!
Did you know that today is Book Lover's Day? No? Well, neither did I until Shaylmesse (#13314) brought it to my attention-- and I'm blushing to have to admit my ignorance, because there are few greater pleasures than curling up with a good book! If you're like me and would just love to have your own little personal library, why don't you try Shaylmesse's gift on for size?
The Book Lover's Background is available in the Advent Calendar for the duration of today and tomorrow, up until August 10th, 11:59pm.
Ooh, but wait! There's more!
Tell me your favourite book (and why!) in the comments and you could be in with a chance of winning this set of custom crystals! I'm in need of some good new holiday reads and I'm sure I can't be the only one. :3 Chime in by August 10th, 11:59pm to ensure your spot in the draw (one entry per account, please).
Ooh, but wait! There's even more!!!
Do you remember I mentioned earlier in the week that I was having a tidy of my inbox? The invitation (and encouragement!) to nudge your outstanding Artist Pay is still open, but today I am asking you to bump up PMs pertaining to Lunarii switches. That means if you picked up the wrong Lunaris for the month and you're still waiting on me to swap 'em around for you, point yourself to my inbox sharpish!
Phew! Okay! That's everything - probably! Who knows! Yay! Exclamation marks!
Thank you for the background, Shaylmesse!
Just smell those new pages!

I have a lot of favourite books. I would say the general entirety of the DragonLance novels/series. There are so many! So many different characters thrown together, so many adventures! It's exciting! One of my most fave books though since it was read to us in class as a preteen is "Wait Till Helen Comes" by Mary Downing Hahn. Probably because one of the main antagonists has the same name as me, and her and her counterpart have similar initials (one initial off!). When I was younger, I always thought that was cool and I have read that book so many times I lost count!

I don't really have a favorite book, but one I did really enjoy was John Dies at the End.
I just own so many books that I have enjoyed so it's really hard to pick just one favorite.

It's a toss up between two books and one author. Anything penned by Mercedes Lackey is excellent, though I'm especially loving her Five Hundred Kingdoms series, and she's written close to a hundred books at least! And Howl's Moving Castle and House of Many Ways, both by Diana Wynne Jones, are both simply wonderful.

My favorite book is "The Langoliers" by Steven King.
I just happened to come across it while looking for another short story, which is featured in the same book, and instantly fell in love. The story itself is so mysterious and intriguing that I was unable to put it down until I was done, and then I had to read it over again because I felt I'd missed about half of it in my utter amazement.
The whole concept is that a group of people suddenly wake up on a plane to find that they are the only ones left, and when they manage to land, they discover that not only is the plane deserted, but the entire planet is as well. Then there's the problem of the Langoliers themselves, and the group has to find a way to escape them and get back to their own time.
After reading it several times, I then accidentally stumbled upon it on tv, and loved the movie as well. It's definitely a book I can read over and over again without ever growing bored of it. It's just... Amazing. *Nod nod*

Sooo many wonderful books out there, picking just one is hard... How about A Confusion of Princes by Garth Nix? It is a great Science Fiction book about a galactic prince; Princes are being that are more than human and are extremely hard to kill, most when killed are brought back by the Emperor... I can't tell you all about it because it would be spoiled.

I've been reading through the Temeraire series by Naomi Novik, and it's... perfect? Dragons and the Napoleonic War and a glorious writing style all rolled into a few great books. I highly recommend the entire series, though the first book- His Majesty's Dragon- is spectacular.

Favourite book is Watchers because it was my second read of a Dean Koontz book and it actually made me think through the entire book how it would be possible for something like that to happen ;)
